Jaga...Hello and thanks for the herring recipes.
I will try the herring salad with beans as I love herring and my husband needs to try more recipes to enjoy herring. I usually just eat it right out of the jar. My favorite is in wine sauce.

Genia,
the same for me. I also like eating the herring out of the jar, sometimes with bread and cheese. My favorite is also in wine sauce. My Polish friends think that the herring here is not as good as the one in Poland, but I do not see the difference. I really like it

I will have to go through my recipes, I have only made fish in horseradish sauce yet this Lent (terrible, I've been slacking but after all of us catching a virus that took a week each to shake, I hope I am forgiven). polishmamaontheprairie.blogspot.com/2011/03/fish-in-horseradish-sauce-or-ryba-w.htmlI also love the herring out of the jar... Mmmm... with rye bread and butter. I love in oil or sour cream with onions. I really should get the wine sauce, though. I only tried once as a child and didn't like it but tastebuds change.

I have always loved herring, whether with sour cream and onions or with wine sauce, as long as there is REAL seeded rye bread to go with it. It has always been a staple at our Christmas Eve Holy Supper and during lent!
