I have a small request... if people sign up here under a different nickname than used on Bella would it be possible to alert us to the change in name? I would sure appreciate it!
BTW I was Hollister (Holly) at Bella and I am am Hollister here ....

Great site Jaga and Nancy,

We'll play around with the possibilities here. Avatars, images, files etc.

It`s OK.
But I have some remarks.

No 1 - is it possible to make these post windows shorter? People write one sentence and there is a lot of unused white space under it. I mean scrolling a page with so many "empty space" posts will be a bit too long.

No 2- isi it possible to change the sequence of columns> Visitors/Replies (like in Bella) instead of this forum`s Replies/Visitors? I mean I got used to Bella`s order of columns....

What is Hollister? I have a student in my school who wears a sweatshirt with this name on it. What does it mean?

Remark No 3 - in reply mode, after my reply post is seen, there is no name of the user who is replied to. Can it be changed? I mean it is in Bella and is quite practical because I know who replies to whom.

Remark No 4 - bella is high on Gogle search list. E.g., I typed in "Dating Polish male" and it was at the bottom of the first page with addresses found by Google.
I typed in some thread names from this forum but they weren`t found by Google. Is it possible to make this forum more popular in Google?

Remark 5 - Will I receive a notification by e-mail if somebody answers me? It works in Russian Forum and I like it. It was impossible in Bella. How about here?

Remark 6 - why, after adding a new post to a thread, the latter does not go to the top of General Board list of topics? It stays in its position. In Bella it went up, suggesting that this thread is hot and just got some new posts. How about here?

pawian,

good questions! Thanks! I don't know any of the answers yet, but give us a day or two. I suspect that some things are just going to be a bit different here than they were at Bella...

Pawian,
Slovakian here. Getting used to to maneuvering on a new board always carries some frustrations. We ahve a whole new set of operations to get used to now.

Now if we all sit in a circle and repeat "ooom", "ooom", will our "karma" rating increase at a faster rate, or are we better off eating a bunch of kolbassa to increase our Polish karma (and waistlines) at a faster rate?

Did anyone read the restrictions imposed upon signing up on proboards? The way I read it we MUST be nice to one another! That is NOT very Slavic! Good Slavs are supposed to fight and argue with one another.

Kai

There is help page with FAQ, I copied this from that page.

How do i know if a new post has been made?
« Thread Started on May 31, 2005, 4:10am »

----------
First, you must be a registered user and logged in.

On the index page, a folder icon that has a blue dot on it will be displayed if a board has posts you haven't read on it. On the individual boards, a "NEW" icon will be placed next to threads you have not read yet.
Also as a registered member you can get email notification of new posts should you enable the feature.
+++++++++++++++++++++

This feature is enabled from your profile page. Go to that page and select bookmarks - manage bookmarks. You will see this option:

"By default, when you bookmark a thread, what type of notification would you like to receive when a new post is made in that thread?"

There are 3 choices, one of which is email notification.
