I wish you a Merry Christmas and a good New Year. I hope that whatever you wish (and it is good) it will happen!
I just sent a newsletter. It is short today since we are leaving tomorrow for a week to Texas. We hope to warm up for a week, since we have lots of snow here in Idaho Falls. I may not have the internet connection for the first couple of days, but I hope to have it at least from 12-28.

Jaga
If you still may read this: Wishing you and your family a very safe journey to Texas and a very happy and Merry Christmas for all.
If perhaps Santa stops for a moment upon your roof in Texas.Perhaps to offer him a cool drink, for as you have seen, the temperature difference between the North and The South where you are traveling, he will be very very hot whilst wearing his winter clothing suited for the climate he has traveled from.

Hi Karl, how is the weather over there in Mexico? Good Morning Jaga It is at present: 3c . Although it will be today at Noon, 21c. At moment, I think this in the Fahrenheit scale is: 73f This area is a mountain valley and as such, the night time cools to become chilly, then as the morning progresses, it warms to the sun. Christmas night, it may rain...which means in self, Santa best use his wheels for his sley and keep rain gear at his side..but, perhaps as not, he has completed his task and perhaps will be home intime for supper with Mrs. Santa I have heard Texas is a hot area, it is my hope that it will be a welcome change for your self and family from the snow and cold of Idaho.... Happy Texas Christmas Karl

It was very rainy when we came, then we had a very cold wind and I went walking without a coat and on the way back I got really cold! Now is not that cold. I am waiting for some friends coming from North Texas tonight.

Jaga, The Netherlands does not have a really typical christmas tradition, I think it is the same as in other European countries. Christmas traditionsChristmas is a high time with lots of fun, food, gifts and an abundance of Christmas traditions. The Christmas traditions as we know it today, already made their appearance in the 16th century, when people all over Europe went to dinner with Christmas with special dishes. Today the Dutch Christmas tradition is a mixture of hundreds of different Christmas traditions from all over Europe. The most fundamental of all Christmas traditions is that, according to Christian tradition, peace will rule on earth during the night when Jesus was born. This is the basis for all other Christmas traditions. Christmas Traditions can be found in almost all the events around Christmas. Eating, drinking, partying, visiting friends, shopping, singing and working: Christmas traditions are everywhere. Food:At Christmas we eat duck, goose, pork or turkey. For dessert we often eat crepes with ice cream and hot cherry sauce. During Christmas we eat sweets such as Stoll, Christmasspeculaasjes, Christmas wreaths, dried apples, marzipan, chocolate, et cetera. Drink:Netherlands does not have as many traditions when it comes to drinking at Christmas. We like to drink warm Glühwein in the afternoon before dinner or in the evening. After the Christmas presents are unpacked the adult drink on Christmas Day is often wine, brandy, Irish coffee or port.

Hmmm, you guys, such nice food and drink As with Pieter, I must say as also of us, not exotic for our region, just good food and drink for the holiday treat. The most nice, is to be with friends and family.. As a person, I enjoy any thing good to eat or drink, for it is still a treat. Whilst at home, it could be rasin gravey over tarp, it could be roast duck, Goose, pork or turkey or even chicken. If the Goose is wild, then better yet, for the meat is dry and tender, if the Goose is tame, then it is full of fat, and as so, needs be roasted with grill work to catch the drippings, to then later be used for gravy. For drink, who cares, wine or what ever, a treat though was an imported whisky of Scotch or American Whisky. This would not last so very long in time.... For the morning after for break fast, bier patty cakes with much butter and sugar butter {not sure of word in Englisch at moment} and black Englisch tea. Not for the faint of heart though with weight as a mind thought, but enough to carry through the day....With a smile.... Karl

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year from sunny Florida. We are having a cold spell at the present time. Today it is 52f degrees but feels much warmer in the sun. Actually saw snow flurries on December 26 for a short period of time.

LyricsEveryday ChristmasA1 lights are lit in the street, we live in a wonderland And everybody goes hand in hand A2 And look, behind almost every window you see a Christmas tree. We're light the small candles at night B1 And I send you my best wishes. My friendship forever People are happy together at the end of the year C1 Christmas, Christmas, the world seems that little bit better. Christmas, Christmas, I can forget my concerns. It is only finished so fast. I wish every day was Christmas for me A3 The smell of turkey sandwiches and the shopping paradise We even skating on the ice A4 more than I get such a warm feeling, the songs on the radio deal with snow and mistletoe B2 and I send you my best wishes my friend forever People are happy together at the end of the year
C2 Christmas, Christmas, the world seems that little bit better Christmas, Christmas, I can forget my worries It's just so fast If only every day but Christmas for me
