Art attack ... 1988 drawing foretells 9/11 atrocity Picture that predicted 9/11Chilling Twin Towers image was hanging in office from 1988By EMILY FAIRBAIRN Published: 10 Sep 2011 THE nightmare of the Twin Towers is captured in a haunting picture — made by a Brit 13 years BEFORE 9/11.The chalk drawing of passenger jets, skyscrapers, flames and a scared child emerged yesterday ahead of tomorrow's solemn tenth anniversary of the terror attacks. Amateur artist Willie Gardner's work from 1988 hung in a back office at an obscure Scottish community centre as the hellish events of September 11, 2001, unfolded. Last night Willie's daughter Aileen, 53, said: "It sends a shiver down people's spines. "My father never showed any psychic qualities when he was alive but it's like he predicted the future." She confessed: "It's chilling that what he drew 13 years earlier went on to become such horrible reality." The picture — now promoted to the foyer of Grangemouth's Community Education Unit in Stirlingshire — has sparked a similar sensation to that of another famous "premonition" image. That one — a Pakistan Airlines ad from 1979 — showed the shadow of an airliner hanging over the doomed New York landmark. Willie's includes two planes. One sports a distinctive red-tipped tail — echoing the livery of one of the hijacked jets that were crashed into the World Trade Center. A fearful-looking girl with fiery tendrils of hair is seen looking skywards. Astonished New Yorker Michael Devers declared after seeing the image: "How did this man in Scotland predict the future so accurately? It's beyond spooky." Fellow American Simone Tranter, of Florida, said: "I've shown this to everyone I know. "It's more than a coincidence. It's just plain weird. It sent a shiver down my spine." Willie drew the picture at the art club he attended at the education centre — and a worker there at the time recalled the boss's reaction. Lex Cook said: "He liked it — and Willie kindly gave it to him for the centre. "I can remember at the time standing looking at it and trying to figure out what it was showing. "It was eye-catching, but strange even at the same time. Now people who see it always ask if it is a tribute to the victims of 9/11. "They have no idea it was painted such a long time ago." Jody Cannon, the centre's current boss, confirmed: "When I show it to someone new I don't say anything and they usually say it must be some kind of tribute. "When I tell them it was painted years before it happened they don't believe it." Mr Cannon volunteered to lend the picture out to any exhibitions interested in showing it. Willie died last year aged 78. His daughter said: "My father was a great artist but although this image is spooky there was nothing supernatural about him. "He was interested in science fiction, though." She added: "Thousands of people all over the world are now sending dad's picture to each other over the internet. His 'premonition' has meant he's become a famous artist at last."

Nictoe,
interesting about Twin Towers.
I was in New York in 90s as a student. I was accepted to spend Christmas organized by one of the churches in Jamaica Queens, NYC. This was a community of mainly Indians from....British Guyana. We lived with a couple - a man (professor) and a woman. She was working on a high floor in one of the towers. She invited me and my roomate (from Finland) to visit her office during Christmas gft exchange. I lost contact with her but I wonder whether she survived.

here is an interesting statistics from New York: In New York City, for example, according to most recent census data relating to 2000, thirty six (36) percent of the population, (2,871,032), is foreign born; as compared with eleven percent, (11), nationwide. These figures, it is reported, indicate all- time highs for both the city’s overall population, as well as its foreign – born component. Nearly seventy (70) percent of the city’s foreign- born population entered the U.S. in 1980 or later, similar to that for the overall U.S. foreign – born population.
Although Latin America was the top area of origin in New York City, accounting for approximately one –third of the city’s immigrants, non-Hispanic Caribbean immigrants, [West Indian Americans], disproportionately made their home there. While West Indian Americans accounted for more than one –in – five of the foreign –born population in the city, they comprised, the Report indicate, just five percent of the nation’s foreign- born, thus creating what I have described elsewhere as “ethnic villages” [enclaves], with differential structural shields such as “susu” to facilitate and buttress their economic and social incorporation in the City.
Immigrants from the Dominican Republic, [called Dominicans], are the top ranked ethnic group in terms of foreign- born population in the City; Jamaicans are third, Guyanese fourth, and Trinidadians eight. Indeed, according to a new report by a U.S. Federal commission, Guyanese ranked number nine, (711 Guyanese), in the asylum seekers to this nation, however only three percent were successful in their quest. In this regard, it also interesting that Indo- Guyanese and the current Jagdeo government seemed nonplussed to explain why some Guyanese might define their Government’s actions, political and economic stance as “oppressive”, and thereby seek to obtain asylum, elsewhere? An indication, to me, that much more needs to be done by the elite in power and controlling the State, to nurture and build a more inclusive and salutary social climate that promotes liberty, economic freedom , a free and independent judiciary, and a police force that is not a disrespected authoritarian arm of the government, bur rather one that respects and abides by the rule of law.
Jamaicans, six (6) percent, and Guyanese, five (5) percent, comprise the highest numbers of the West Indian American cohort in the foreign- born population in the City. Dominicans, for example, are thirteen (13) percent of this base. Further, Jamaicans live largely in the Bronx, thirteen (13) percent’ and in Brooklyn eight (8) percent; as compared with Guyanese ,seven (7) percent residing in the county of Queens, and in Brooklyn (Kings county), four (4) per cent. With regard to the settlement patterns of the three largest West Indian American groups- Jamaicans, Guyanese and Trinidadians- forty –one (41) percent of Jamaicans in the City lived in Brooklyn; while the Bronx and Queens were home to twenty –nine (29) percent and twenty-six (26) percent, respectively. Just over one half of all Guyanese live in Queens; with thirty (36) percent in Brooklyn, and eleven (11) in the Bronx. Trinidadians are highly concentrated in Brooklyn, fifty-nine (59) percent, and in Queens- thirty (30) per cent. Guyanese have the highest rate of home ownership among West Indian Americans in the City, forty-nine (49 percent); closely followed by Jamaicans thirty seven (37) percent; and Trinidadians thirty -two (32) percent.
Further, Guyanese had the highest rate of marriage among West Indian Americans, fifty five, (55) percent; followed by Trinidadians, thirty-nine (39) percent; Jamaicans thirty three, (33 )percent; and, conversely, had the lowest rates of female headed household (no spouse present) twenty-two (22) percent, as compared with Trinidadians, thirty –two( 32) percent; and Jamaicans, the highest with thirty three (33) percent

You have to admit that it is kind of CREEPY to see all these advertisements before 911: "The Coup" CD, created before 9-11 General Electric advertisement for a fridge (2000) World Trade Center brochure, 1984

Interesting. I visited the World Trade Center in NYC before & after 9/11. World mourns 9/11 events together with Americans english.ruvr.ru/2011/09/11/56003344.htmlRussians and people all over the world mourn together with Americans remembering the victims of the largest terrorist act in the history of mankind in New York on the 11th of September 2001.Then people came to fully understand the horror of terrorism and since then people have been taking terrorism as absolute evil which is not abstract but very tangible. The events of ten years ago are among those that people cannot remember without shuddering. On that day the terrorist attack of the twin towers of the International Trade Center showed that no one can feel safe while terrorists cherish plans of world domination. Terrorists’ actions can be compared to the tragedy of WW2. However, in 2001 a peaceful city became the theatre of a monstrous bloody disaster when innocent people were dying before the eyes of the whole of mankind, due to the achievements of contemporary TV. The most frightful thing is that such a strong state as the USA turned out helpless before the cruelty of Osama Bin Laden’s accomplices. After the events of the 11th of September 2001 mankind united in the struggle against the terrorist threat. The leading countries of the world formed an anti-terrorist coalition. The main lesson that we have learned after this tragedy is that there are no good or bad terrorists, Alexey Makarkin, the deputy director of the Centre of Political Studies, says. “During the cold war period it was believed that some terrorists are bad and some are good. If a terrorist acts in the interests of your part of the world in the context of the global confrontation, he is good even if he commits crimes. If he acts against these interests he is bad. Such ideas predominated both in the USSR and in the West. However, the tragedy of the 11th of September demonstrated that terrorism is always evil, no matter what its motives are –political, national or religious – and on what territory it acts – in the USA or the Arab countries, in Chechnya, Afghanistan or Europe. All this is evil and people have realized that they should fight against this evil together. This is the main lesson of the tragedy of the 11th of September.” For this reason mourning ceremonies are taking place all over the world today. In New York President Barack Obama will take part in the remembrance ceremony. The New York Philharmonics Orchestra has given a concert in memory of the victims of the terrorist act. In Moscow there will also be a concert in which Leonard Bernstein’s Third Symphony Kaddish – Dialogue with God will be performed. The American composer wrote this symphony in memory of President John Kennedy. Similar actions are taking place in Paris, Berlin, London and other world capitals. Remembrance services are being conducted in churches and temples of all world confessions. Orthodox Christians, Catholics and Protestants, Jews and Buddhists are praying for the victims of the terrorist attack of the 11th of September. One idea runs through their prayers: there is no religion or nationality for terrorism. In all its manifestations it encroaches upon the main right, the right to lif

In the 1950’s as a student in Ciy College, NY, I met visiting beatnik author: Jack Kerouac who graduated from Columbia Univ: www.juggle.com/jack-kerouacHe was French Canadian & he said that some of his French buddies who were in the French army fighting in Algeria told him that some Algerian rebels said that Islamic extremists will commit terror against the West in the future.
