We will be tomorrow in Valencia and the day after (Sunday) in Zaragoza (Saragossa). Not sure what will be the internet connection there, we will have the internet probably on Monday when we will be for a week in Tarragona. Pieter, I met today again many Dutch people, I asked why they come there to South Spain. I am still not sure, it seems that they just love this part of the world.

I was once a visiter there some years past. Spain is a wonderful country to visit. I think you will be on the Golf de Valencia {Mediterranean}, a most wonderful and warm water if you are.... It is quite very gracious of you to keep all informed of your travels, for as understood, the excitment of strange areas quite often take on a life as of own. Enjoy with many memories of this past to re-remember into the present..... Karl

Jaga, Yes, it's true the Dutch love the South of Spain, and they love Portugal too. I know quite a few who have been there. The cultural, educated ones, who have an interest in Spanish culture, people and thus Spanish history. Did you see a lot of beautiful landscapes, churches and some Moorish heritage there? Cheers, Pieter

We are in Solou on the Eastern coast of Spain. It is a beautiful place, unfortunately we do not have the internet connection besides going to the caffeteria and having Wi fi connection. Russians just got a first goal against Poland ... not good! Here in the resort there are many Russians. Everything is bilingual - Spanish and Russian, we could even buy borscht! So i have heard lots of happy scream when they got a goal..... not sure how often I could be able to get online until we will be in Germany (June 18)

For this is the time to build memories of your travels and to look back upon the time when Ela was so young. And in this manner, as time will evolve, for Ela to look back when every one was young and of the memories you have provided for her. Karl

Genia and Karl and all, thanks for your nice replies. We enjoy Spain tremendously. The weather is much better than I expected. It is a cool breeze when we walk in the towns. People seem to be happy in spite of the crisis, I posted some pictures on the facebook: www.facebook.com/ I did not have any internet contact for 3 days until today, so I did not really update it too often. Today we are in Barcelona, tomorrow we fly to Germany to visit my cousin.

we are in Germany since Monday evening. We visited Rothenburg yesterday, the old town in Frankonia which at least partly survived the war and had old city walls. Today we stayed in Nurnberg. I am spending so much time with my family that I really did not have time to look online too much....

Jaga,
Of all things I am happy you are spending so much time with the family that the internet is being neglected! That sounds quite healthy for you and the family.
Well, we crossed paths in Germany. I left Prague Wednesday the 20th and took an express bus to Frankfurt, taking a 20 minute break in Nurnberg. Will head down near Munich today to visit my goddaughter and her fiance, and have a car rented to complete my time in Germany visiting friends when I come back to the Darmstadt-Frankfurt area.
Prague is a great place to enter ANY restaurant with a notebook and keep tabs of everything you order so you can compare your sum with the inflated sum of the waitress at the end of the meal. I think that is the only way to avoid a ripoff in this otherwise fine city! They seem as honest s the Spanish.

We will stay in Germany until Sunday evening.

The stop in Nurnberg was just by the regular bus schedule. On line I ran across an express bus that left from the main train station, stopped in Nurnberg and gave us 10 minutes to walk to the ICE high speed train to Fairbanks. It turned out that is run by the train companies. When I went to the bus station to buy a ticket from the "same" company the woman said her bus company wasn't associated with them ... and then offered me a bus all the way for $75 instead of the Euro 93 the bus/train would have cost, about half the price for bus. Add that to the bus being far more convenient to get to on time, and I took the deal.
I am now down outside of Munich for the weekend to visit my goddaughter. Had a good Bavarian dinner, some good beer and watched the Germany-Greece match in the local beer garden. I realized I watched the full game without advertisement breaks! It was wonderful to see a game played in real time and not every play interrupted by adverts as it is in America.

Ron, that is good. I also took the train to Nurnberg, it was very full, and you are right. This is not cheap. I am in Poland now, but since the students are still in my old apartment I have to live at the friends' house. It is a bit inconvenient for internet but nice to spend time with.
