You really can never talk down passionate hunters. It is guns for "self protection" that really bother me. GM I don't believe hunting was mentioned until Jaga just brought up the topic. Wheel guns generally are not used for hunting except for rare hunters who relish the challenge. Shooting and shooting for self defense (and offense) were the topic. I agree with Eric: *I'm not quite sure about the purpose of making a poll with this thread* and wonder still who carol is and her purpose with this and a few of the other unusual posts. I expected to hear a bit from JJ and perhaps Bob on this, but both have kept quiet. To answer your original question, *What is this question doing in a thread about Polish Travel?* carolgreen is the only one that can answer that, and she/he is keeping silent. There was another thread on gun control, but it didn't lead to much discussion, just posting of quotations from others, not original opinions or thoughts. We are left to think the quotations represented the full extent of the posters opinions and thoughts.

Dear GM I understand your situation in questioning of this topic and for why upon a family forum. For in the manner of topic, perhaps it needs not be here. Let us not mince with words, pistols are for one reason, and that is to kill people with. Rather for self defense or other wise, these things are not designed for hunting. They are inherently dangerous requiring very professional training as in Police and military services. On occasions, yes I carry one as required. It is a powerful handgun that I have been trained to use, in as so, required two times yearly on the gun range for updating and qualification. This requires in self, one day of classroom session, then two days on the range. To complete the course of instruction requires expenditure of 1200 rounds of 9MM ammunition. If of my rathers, I would rather simply not be required to carry such a weapon. But, some people are not the good guys out there. For the most part, due to my age and situation and out of the field, and primarily in administration. The most fear here is: If the refrigeration air goes out and/or the cooks go on strike in the canteen, then what do we do? No coffee? No tea? No nothing?? Karl
