Me and my sister, this summer, in july on Schiphol Airport, before her departure to Cape Town, South-Africa. She flew with United Emirates Airlines via Dubai. A very long 24 hours flight. We spend two nice days in Amsterdam with her daughter, my niece Katja. My sister and her daughter Katja. We went to Zeeland togehter to visit our parents, and Katja's grandparents. We had a wonderful time there.

Pieter
I remember your family gathering this year, it was good for all, for time is not our friend. This is a good photo of both yourself and your sister Carine, and of your Niece Katja with her mother. With this, the following family photos with your Father and Mother cycling.
These photos are what memories are and carry in future time, those precious moments together.
Thank you for sharing..

Thank you, I hope that more people will share their family photo's here. I remember from our conversations that you look something in-between Joseph Heinrich Beuys and David Bowie. Jaga, has always very nice vacation photographs and family images. I hope that she will post some too. I am on the move between two houses. Because I had to get rid of many things and had to go through my belongings (what to keep and what to throw away), I encountered many images, slides, photo albums, drawings and paintings, also with persons on it (family portraits, teenage drawings and etc. and also teenage images, I took with my first very simple Kodak low quality camera). It had some charm and it created flash backs, a melancholic sentimental mood, in which you romanticice the past. Certain cells are activated in your brain and you relive moments, past time and thus periods of your life. Strange, but also good to look back at the good moments, some quality time spend with friends, family, colleages and others. And you think, how quick the time went.

Pieter,
Very nice photos of your family. It sounds as if you all miss your sister very much. I especially like the photo of three generations of women in your life together.
I agree that we should post more photos of our families. Will try to comply.

John,
Yes, I miss my sister, the is a long distance in space between us, but we have good contact despite the distance. I like the image of the three generations of women together too. My mother, sister and niece. Three very different generations; grandmother, mother and daughter. It was nice to have the opportunity to meet my niece as an 18 year old. I knew her as a 2 year old, a 7 en 7 year old, when she was 13/14 and now suddenly she has become a young lady. It was fun to spend some quality time with her and my sister. We went doing things with the three of us and also with the five of us (with our parents).
For my sister it is nice that now her children get older, she soon will be more independent. In South-Africa she had to spend much time next to her own job driving the kids around. Hundreds of miles a week. Like in Europe in South-Africa you only can get your driving license at 18 year old. These family reunions are seldom occasions, every couple of years. So we enjoy our time together when we see each other.
Cheers, Pieter
