Who knows who is really responsible for the death of these children. I think that the vacuum created by a lack of extended family, difficult relations between the mother and father, may be to blame also...... very sad.

It is perhaps not usual of this type of murder suicide, whilst not unheard of. My self am not a police man, but it is all the same a matter of evidence and correct interview of all witnesses as evidenced by the responding police upon the scene.
With the situation of on going divorce, both parties are not exactly normal withen the situation. For most will exhibit both highs and lows in mental out look. In this case, it appears as the evidence that is brought forward, the mother was in a very low mental state of mind in either high anger or low esteem. It is against the nature in most cases of a mother harming her children, but not unheard of. What is not brought forward is if the divorce case has been brought forward in a court of law and if any award of the children was adjudicated to either parent.
For often, but not always, the loser parent will choose a course of action in the manner of{If I have not my children, then no one will}. It is the variables of human nature and mindset at the time of action that some times have not the option to pre-predict a particular course of action a person under stress will take.
Dependant upon such variables of stress/situation/particular circumstance, we are all people at different times. The deference is we do not conduct our selves in the manner as the few do.
