Which country has the most women in parliament and why?
it is actually a very interesting and a bit sad story behind why there is more than 60% of women (we should be happy but not in this specific case) representing this country.....

Jaga
I must confess to my ignorance for I have no idea. As a personal, I was not to revert to google search for this would be a form of deception.

Here the top 5:
Women in Parliament (% of total seats)
1. Rwanda 49 2. Sweden 45 3. Denmark 38 4. Finland 38 5. Netherlands 37
Probably Rwanda has so many women, because many men, boys and male babies were murdered during the Genocide of 1994. Probably more women managed to hide or escape with their children. Ofcourse many women and girls were killed too.
This top 5 shows how progressive, liberal and emancipated the Scandinavian countries are. Norway stands at number 7 in the list with 36 women in parliament.

Karl,
we are always learning. Rwanda has most women in the parliament. This is good and bad since so many men died and was killed in the Hutu/Tutsi civil war.
Pieter, good guess. Netherlands does pretty well.

You're welcome. You are a son of one of those countries, in the maternal sense!
Be proud of that heritage!
