Jaga
Thank you most kindly for your good wishes and most appreciated.. It was very nice of Ela to such a wonderful cake for her Father on this day in his honour.
Yes, I understand your pleasant surprise with her cooking ability,,it would so seem, our little ones grow up before our eyes so quickly it is so difficult to keep up.

Karl,
I thought about you and your two children, right? Your son and a daughter. How are they doing? Do you have any chance to visit them?

My parents don't care for fathers and mothers day. We don't celebrate it because my father sees it as a Nazi Germany Hitler celebration. Probably the Roman-Catholics started it earlier, but the Nazi connection is there. Secondly they are irritated about the 'fact' that they see it as a commercial thing which suits shopkeepers.
We celebrate birthdays and holidays. Many Dutch people do celebrate Fathers and mothers day though.

It has been quite some time since to see my daughter Carol and son Paul. My son has his own business in the USA as his own realestate brokerage business and daughter Carol was in the banking business as a comptroller and now is his business manager. He this last fall, purchased out another realestate company and now has twice the headaches to deal with, but he loves it. Recently my Grandson,s wife joined the company with her acquiring her realestate license, so it appears as at least partially, a family owned business. Karl

Pieter, thank is interesting since my mother never liked Mother's Day since it was introduced during WWII also. Polish Father's Day is on June 24. My parents don't care for fathers and mothers day. Karl, I hope that you can at least communicate with them electronically. Maybe you can play monopoly since it is also a game of properties.... although your son is doing it for real!
