Another year is almost behind us, another time to try to change something in our lives. Any ideas for new year resolution? Don't try to change too much in short time, just gradually...
My first resolution is to lose some weight. I gained few pounds during last year and summer. I joined TOPS and I lost about 5 lbs, which is quite decent. Still, I need to lose more. My club has lots of cool ladies and I really enjoy it!

Jaga
Weight is an aggravation to the senses. It perhaps is to each what works, for my self, I will lose weight by eating what I normally eat, but just cut down on the amount.

Drink less alcoholic beverages, quit smoking 100% and becoming a little bit more disciplined and organised. You always want to improve yourself!
Health and being in good shape is important.
A little bit less of everything can help. With discipline, focus, a good structure and a personal system you can succeed. It doesn't take much, just a little bit of effort.
And like Jaga said; Don't try to change too much in short time, just gradually...

Whilst reviewing the replies to this subject of New Years Resolution{s}, was to take a good introspect of my own modes operandi. I think perhaps this past year, will be a carry on into the new year without the need{s} of change and/or modification of my personal behavior.
I still conduct my early morning cycle trips in the same area for exercise for both the body and mind. Still breath in the fresh morning air before mountain air changes to urban city air. For each day, to sit in silence in seclusion to let the mind rest and let the surroundings gradually become one with all that is my self. Whilst doing so, there comes into my self a chill and electrical jolt that signifies completion of rest.
Then back to the days experience of what ever is next.
It is only a supposition, but for one's behaviour is to another a strange situation.

Pieter, be better organize is a good thing. I drink much less than even in Poland but I was never heavy drinker. Simply alcohol does not make me happy.... except a bit of Kahlua in grandma house. We also decided not to buy a real champagne this year. It is over-priced, too much sugar. We are going to drink grape bubbly juice with Ela...... I was never a smoker but I understand that smoking actually helps us to fight some anxiety problems. It also help prevent overeating.
Karl, I like your meditation. I am trying it also, sometimes with a prayer, just to get disconnected from a busy world for a moment.

I think we need to remember that changing our lives does not mean a sacrifice but it is beneficial for us and for others. I realized that usually it is nicer to give something to others than get something.... it is just so much fun to see reactions of other people. I try to do one good deed for somebody else per day.... and when I do it I am happy. Usually it is a simple easy task.... and it make my life of more value for other people.... it is sometimes that simple as just calling somebody who you know needs some support.... nothing big....

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2016. We will have Olympic games in Rio this year. I was in Rio a couple of years ago and they were already preparing for soccer games and for the Olympic games. I woke up at night with muscle cramps, but it went away... so hopefully this year will be good. We are flying back to Idaho today, where the temperature was -9 F yesterday and down to -15 F. Today it will be still cold.... so it means that there should be no snow at least. Much different weather than here in Texas. At least it cooled down here

Yesterday my monitor stopped working properly and we had to buy new one. Today in the morning we noticed that the part of the ceiling in the garage was broken.. it was just a warm isolation plate that felt into my husband's car. Nothing bad happened to anybody. We have so much snow, that some leakage just happened. I was also able to get the mail from the post office today in the morning. Yesterday there were such big crowds there, waiting for 2 hours... today I did it in 5 minutes.... and I realized how grateful I was and how much I appreciate things which comes to me so easily......
So, I had to add one more thing to my New Year Resolution Team...... just count my blessings and be grateful for what is around us and what we take for granted.

Jaga Your experience is a good one, good as in the manner of realizing your blessings and being grateful for them. Many years past, begin my self to pray twice daily, once in the morning, and once in the evening at bedtime. The Lords prayer is the same both times in the day, the after prayer of thanks is different. My personal experience of the above: I feel at ease and of the Lords Blessing, with this though,, I feel the responsibility of doing right as much as possible to keep and not lose the Lords Blessing, it is not simple nor easy. It is conducting my part for my sake and my personal responsibility to do so. I am not the best Christen nor the most faithful, simply trying my best that is withen my self to do so. Jaga, my self am not bragging about what I do, simply speaking out as a christen to another. The reasoning of my twice prayer in the day, is, if I die afterwards, I would not be able to have the evening prayer, if then I should die in the night, I would have already conducted my short prayer session. The reason of prayer, is to open the dialog with God to speak to him for it is then between God and my self only. Karl
