Pieter,
I saw it, so thanks for bringing it up since these are big news. I think, it is a good thing but... the world did not accept it yet. It would also create a feeling of super-nationalism, especially in the beginning.

I hope that the Turks, Iraqi's and Iranians will not attack them. If they do all Kurds of the region will rise. The Turkish Kurds in Turkey with their PKK and Tak organisations, the Iranian Kurds with their Kurdistan Freedom Party (PAK), Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI) and the PJAK (The Kurdistan Free Life Party) , and the Syrian Kurds with their People's Protection Units ( YPG ) and the The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). All these Turkish Kurd, Syrian Kurd, Iraqi Kurd and Iranian Kurd organisations are interrelated. Kurds from Turkey, Iraq and Iran fought in Syria together with Syrian Kurds and international (non-Kurd) volunteers against ISIS, the Al Nusra Front, the Free Syrian Army and occasionally the Syrian army of Assad. Kurds like some Turks, Arabs, Iranians, Israeli's, Armenians (in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict with Azerbaijana and their ethnic, cultural and political conflict and tension with the Turks), Georgians and Russians in the region are very nationalistic and Patriotic people. Kurdistan is a Messianic dream for them, their Utopia and their Holy land. They will fight until the death for Kurdistan. The secular, Kurdish nationalist, Libertarian socialist Kurdistan Workers' Party ( PKK) which began their insurgency against the Turkish state in 1984 used suicide bombers against military, police and tourist targets to hurt the Turkish tourist economy and the state. According to the Chicago Project on Security and Terrorism's Suicide Attack Database, as of 2015, ten suicide attacks by the PKK from 1996 to 2012 killed 32 people and injured 116. ( Suicide attacks are only part of the PKK's militant arsenal as they have killed or wounded hundreds of government workers and destroyed or damaged hundreds of school, post offices and mosques.) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurdistan_Free_Life_Partyen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_Party_of_Iranian_Kurdistanen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurdistan_Freedom_Partyen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rojavaen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraqi_Kurdistan
