Karl, Merry Christmas. Thanks for starting this thread. I thought we will be in Texas by now, but in snowed in Denver so badly that our plane never made it last night. When we came to the airport we were told that we would have to drive a shuttle to Salt Lake, then fly to Houston and Austin. So considering that Austing is still two hours away - it would take us until after 10 pm to be there. Since John is not well and Ela also got a virus, she is in the bed now, it is probably better that we stayed home I am attaching a traditional Polish card:

Dear Jaga and Kai
Thank you most kindly for your well received Christmas wishes and may the best also be with you both..
Jaga, I am so sorry of the troubles of your planned trip, but as it seems, there is a reason for most every thing, and in this case, your family is sick. The trip would have been very bad for them, some times we must count our blessings and rejoice in our good fortunes..
Kai, I realize you are single,it is my most fine hope that you will have family to enjoy with or friends to share the day with.
May seasons blessing be with you both..
Karl

Kai,
where are you for this Christmas?
Pieter, do you spend Christmas in your parents' house? How they are doing? Is weather any better in Netherlands? My friends in Poland tell me that the Christmas is not white there, unfortunately. We have a beautiful Christmas in Idaho. I guess, I am so used to the snow by now, that I did not even think about making anymore pictures.
We did some Polish food - borscht with mushroom dumplings today. I posted pictures on the facebook. The only problem - Ela cannot eat it, since she has some stomach problem. John at least ate it, with no problems

Jaga,
We have a wetcold Christmas holiday week over here in the Netherlands. No white christmas indeed. Cold rain and chilly temperatures, dark grey clouds and sometimes a little winter sun which shines through the coulds for a few moments. I love this week in which I spend a long week until the new year with my parents. They are fine both of them.
I am glad John could eat your borscht with mushroom dumplings. Hope Ela will recover soon from her illness.
Cheers, Pieter

So we had a quiet and very fine Christmas together. In contrast to the atmosphere created by our news media today, it is surprising how easy it is to enjoy differences in beliefs and practices among human beings, and to have a warm and broadening experience through the sharing and acceptance of one another. It was a fine Christmas. Kai

Ron, this sounds like a really nice Christmas. I think that the amount of politics is a bit less during Christmas season, except tweets sent by our president from his golf resort in Florida, all talk is about weather.
