Poland child sex offenders list 'protects children'


Poland is depriving convicted paedophiles of anonymity

The Polish government says a new public online register with data on convicted pedophiles is a "breakthrough tool" to protect children.

Deputy Justice Minister Michal Wos said the register would enable parents to check if any pedophiles were living in their area.

"The good of the child is the most important thing," he told Polish radio.

Personal data on 768 pedophiles, including ID photos, can be viewed on the Polish justice ministry website.

Critics say such open disclosure can make it harder for pedophiles to reintegrate into society after serving their sentence. It can also put them at risk of vigilante attacks, some argue.

The Polish register gives details of each pedophiles crimes and sentencing, date and place of birth, and home district.

Polish public broadcaster TVP says they are mainly pedophiles who have raped children aged under 15, some of whom acted with particular cruelty.
'Severe consequences'

It quoted Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro as saying sex offenders "must face very severe consequences - not only a long sentence, but also loss of anonymity".

In the UK such data is available from police on request, via the Sex Offenders Register. But the applicant will not necessarily get the data - the police decides whether to disclose it, and to whom, in each case.

In the US, Megan's Law gives people the right to find data about pedophiles by doing an internet search. Australia has a similar system.

US states vary in the amount of data they disclose about pedophiles online, but in many cases it is quite detailed. Arkansas, for example, lets people search for sex offenders on a map.

The authorities in Texas give details and photos of the "Texas 10 most wanted sex offenders", with rewards offered totalling thousands of dollars.

I hope it works John, because these predators have secret networks and not all of them are caught or known. The convicted pedophiles and their networks the police, state prosecution and judges know of. Question is how much unknown pedophiles and networks there are? It seems they infiltrated every area where they can find children. The Roman Catholic church, other churches, other religious communities, sport clubs (pedophile trainers and coaches and seniors), the press/media (Jimmy Savile), *Social media, kindergarten and primary schools, shopping malls and neighbourhoods. These people know that they are monitored, investigated and hunted by both private investors/anti-Pedophile organisations and by the authorities of most Western countries. There is international coordination and cooperation in international police operations. For instance in the same police action world wide people were arrested in the Netherlands, USA, Thailand, Germany and Australia for instance, because these pedophiles and child pornography producers and users belonged to an international network of these people.

I read about it in the Dutch press many times, and we had our own case with a Arnhem city councillor (and former alderman) who was caught at home with child pornography on his computer twice. His case in court was one of these instances in my job that I nearly became ill due to abhorrence, repulsion and abomination. The case was so brutal and sick that grown up people cried in court. They have children, they have family with children, they have neighbours with children and thank god most people are normal. It was hard to listen to the long charge and sentence of this strange human being. He didn't knew that a special branch of the Dutch police ( A child pornography unit with international connections with units of other police forces of other countries) was monitoring and following him for a while. They know if he had connections with child porn networks and he had. So this lead them to a meeting point where the councillor met another pedophile with whom he exchanged hard disks with child porn. Via this lead the Dutch police and police abroad could arrest other pedophiles and confiscate their material. Unfortunately that is just the tiny top of the icemountain, underneath is the ice mountain above water and the huge foundation under water. Another problem is that corporate and financial interest of the producers (abusers, criminals) is behind all it. And there are people in every profession, class and background who are pedophiles. So also powerful people like politicians, priests, civil servants, teachers, judges, lawjers, entrepreneurs and etc. Poverty in Eastern-Europe, Thailand and other parts of the world where the abuse takes place makes the things worse. Because some immoral poor parents sell their children to pimps for childprostitution and other children dissappear in the child porn industry. I hope that the efforts of parents who create a safe and secure environment for their children together with their grandparents, uncles and aunts, neighbours, communities, local police, schools, sport clubs, civil servants and community workers/social workers can lay a safe zone around children with also possibilities to be free and investigative as a child.

I know what the abuse on an early age (physical, mental and sexual) can do to children and teenagers, because I know victims of incest and rape. I talked about it before on this forum. It has a great impact on the life of a human being and I know the effects of this child abuse on the adult a child will be later. People suffer for whole their lives from this abuse. Mentally, physically and socially and professionally. They have difficulties with relationships, difficulties with sexuality, difficulties with trusting people and often suffer from depressions and other mental illnesses. It is good that there is international cooperation in fighting child pornography and that Pedophiles are hindered in practicing their sexual orientation. They should be helped and prevented in their orientation. I don't know how, but there must be a way to stop these people by helping them with hormone therapy, chemical castration or if they are willing to coop with their dangerous defect, to live apart in safe zones where there are no children.

In most countries I know there is an extreme intolerance for these people. In the Netherlands convicted pedophiles have a hard time finding a new home after their prison sentence, because some cities and towns simply don't want them, neighbourhoods don't want them, parents don't want them and children don't want them. So maybe a special zone should be created for them, where they can live and work without bothering parents and children, but with decent life conditions. It is hard to be a forgiving christian if you know the predator minds and twisted mindsets of some of these people. They have some mental illness connected to their sexuality in my subjective point of view. I have seen several pedophiles on Dutch and Flemish tv. They were never normal, logical and decent people. They twisted reality to fit it to their story and their own sexual orientation.

In general most hetrosexual, Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual and transgender people oppose pedophilia. Only some extreme libertarians or weird progressive liberals tolerate pedophilia as a 'sexual orientation', 'a difficult state of being' and 'a way of living.' In the crazy, luny seventies there was some tolerance for Pedophilia in the leftwing Western-Europe. Thank god that time is over.

My self am in full agreement what Pieter has brought forward. It is difficult to think that pedophiles are human in the manner they treat children as not human but objects to exploit for their own pleasure. It is good in Poland to begin a public register for the parents to know who and what is in their area and to what risk is to their children. But then, the register is not enough, for there best be follow up for where these people are placed in homes to be not near a school or in a neighbourhood with sizable population of children, for otherwise the risk begins once again.

There are many weird people on this earth, but not all weird people are pedophiles, psychopaths and freaks. Ofcourse there will be pedophiles amongst artists, because you have pedophiles in every profession (in my opinion) unfortunately. Fact is that many of these preditors who were exposed (cought in their act or recognised by enforcement agencies) were not weird at all. They looked or were disguised as decent, sympathetic, well mannered, child friendly and social people. I repeat Roman-Catholic priests, Protestant Reverends, Orthodox rabbies or community members, Muslim imams, Hindu Priests and sexual abuse at a Sikh temple. Recently a shocking report of sexual abuse of minors within the closed and sectarian Dutch Jehova Witness community came out.

I react towards the term weird people and pointing at artists, because most of the abuse cases didn't came from artists circles or the art world. But since the art world is part of the world and in the materialistic, hedonistic and decadent world of 'Pop Culture', 'Pop icons', and the glamor world of Hollywood, Broadway (theatre and cabaret) and media and press corporations abuse took place too. In the psychological sense it has something to do with domination, power, control, sexual deviances, sadism and masochism, and sometimes narcism, borderline defects (some people with a borderline personality disorder cross others peoples borders and those of themselves, and these people don't take the feelings, bodily integrity and safety of others seriously), apathy, anti-social behaviour, Hypersexuality (sometimes a sex addiction, but in other cases it is a biological phenomenon), promiscuity, perverse natures, Paraphilia (the experience of intense sexual arousal to atypical objects, situations, fantasies, behaviors, or individuals -these can include babies, toddlers or little children, their clothes or toys as part of the Pedophile Paraphilia sexual disorder), and people who live isolated, abnormal lives in anonymity. They live on welfare (social security payments), pension, family money (in the cases of rich families), have part time or full time jobs and no social life, no sport, no hobby, no family or friends. All the time that they are alone outside work or if they are unemployed at home or in the neighbourhood, in the city, in town, in the subburb, in villages, in hamlets and also in rural area's they try to find a way to get connected to places where children are playing, studiying (primary schools) or having their entertainment or sport.

The isolated pedophiles in my opinion spend most of their time trying to find childpornography on the Dark web or to try to connect to Pedophile and Child porn networks. These networks are highly secretive and because I obviously don't know who they are, where they are and how they function the pedophiles will have their own version of a Gaydar (a radar for pedophiles). In my opinion this secret, dangerous, dark, sinister, obscure, creepy, distorted, unhealthy and highly confidential world is extremely dangerous, dark, repulsive, destructive and strange.

In my opinion child pornography is close to the adult snuff film, or snuff movie, "a movie in a purported genre of movies in which an adult person or teenager is actually murdered or commits suicide". Pedophilia and childpornography is so destructive that it not only destroys children and the lives of the adults whom children who were victim of child pornography, incest or active violent pedophiles (not family members), but also future generations who came after that. Again, I know vicitims of incest, rape and sexual assaults. Contact with these people was very difficult and tough, but learned me a lot about incest, Pedophilia, rape and child pornography. That it has a lot to do with 'Power' (and thus the abuse of power by adults), 'Control', 'Violence', 'isolation', 'secrecy', 'menace' (People who commit incest or pedophiles often use threats against children to control them and to feel the power; 'If you talk about this I kill your cat, dog, sister, brother, mother and/or father'), using feelings of 'Shame', 'embarrassment', 'pride', 'self loathing' (of the child victims themselves), 'fear', 'anxiety', 'grief', 'vulnerabiltiy', 'sensibility' to target and control children in a sexual way and a violent way. I use here the stories of incest victims, rape victims, reports, articles, essays, documents, documentaries, novels and movies which I saw. I am not a experience expert, because I wasn't abused myself and did not abuse someone else.

What I do know and sincerely believe is that we have to built a safety net of social control, safe zones, security and a warm, cosy, friendly and educative, pedagogic and didactic environment around children. We also have to indirectly educate and warn them of the dangers of child preditors next to the fact that we warn them for dangerous traffick situations, illnesses (to get properly dressed in the winter and autumn for winter and autumn conditions) and not to go into dangerous parts of the city or town (crime, drugs or anti-social area's of the city or town which are dangerous for them, because they can be driven over, shot, stabbed, attacked by wild dogs or harassed by bullying kids or street gangs). I hope that children will be protected better in the future and that in cases of abuse the social environment of the child will react.

In the Netherlands I heard the good news that maybe hundreds of children were saved because they were take out of the isolation and abuse of the child porn industry. They shouldn't have been in that situation in the first place, and I am sorry for the mental and physical pain, stress and suffering they are under right now. I hope that there are good therapies, medical methods, Counseling psychology methods for them to heal some part of the their suffering. I know that the fact what happened can't be taken away, but that good therapy, psychiatric and psychological counseling and in some case Psychotherapy can help. Mind you that every person, every individual is different and that thus what works for one person doesn't work for another. So, each child and each person who was abused in her or his childhood needs her or his method. There are various therapies, medicines, curing methods that work. I am not a shrink, psychologist or therapist myself, but I have listened to some of these people. And sometimes listening and a hug helped them or just a shoulder to lean too.

All day looking at child pornography, looking for that one indication

She sees them on the darkweb: men who tell how they abuse their own daughter.

That is the hardest part of our work, says child pornography detective Lesley Lindner. That you know that a child is being abused, but you don't know yet who is being abused and who is the abuser and where it happens. "Sometimes you are looking for weeks or months, while you know that a child is being abused all the time, which is very distressing."

The Dutch police managed to identify 130 children as a victim of abuse in the Netherlands during the past year. 380 suspects could be arrested, more than 100 of whom were responsible for making child pornography.


Police are hunting a growing supply of child pornography

A large part of the work of the detectives of the national anti-child pornography and child sex tourism team of the Dutch police consists of minutely viewing photos and videos of abuse, looking for clues that lead to victims and perpetrators.

"You look for something traceable in every image", says Lindner. "For example, a picture showing a piece of a yellow dress that could be something unique."

Her colleague Marcel Nek adds: "Can you find out what brand it is? Can you find the point of sale? Is there paid with a debit card or credit card? So we always try to get something further."

In an older abuse case, a church window could be seen on a photograph. The police had special software written, which compared all church windows with the window on the photo via Google Earth. This way the police found the address where two children were abused by a pedosexual.

There are Children which are being abused that we do not know about.

High in a police station in Zoetermeer is their department, where 40 detectives are engaged in detecting child pornography. The focus is on saving victims and finding producers at home and abroad. An additional 110 detectives work in the rest of the country.

The teams are buried under the reports of child pornography. Last year it was 18,000, more than ever. The result is that not all cases can be investigated. Lindner: "Under the line means: children are abused that we do not know about."

The large number of reports has to do with the wide availability of child pornography on the internet. Via the dark web the material is accessible worldwide and it keeps circulating. "The darkweb is the only place where you can be yourself as a pedophile, but at the same time it is the gateway to hell", says Lindner.

In addition to relatively innocent images, very extreme categories of abuse can also be found there. "I see new people signing up and dropping in. Twenty years ago, most people did not dare to buy a videotape with child pornography at a shabby sex shop in Amsterdam, but they searched on the darkweb and came into contact with the most far-reaching forms of abuse. "

Assessing whether a photo or video can be made in the Netherlands is a matter of experience. Nek has been working as a child pornography detective for seventeen years and has seen so much material that he often sees at a glance whether it is about new abuse and what it should come from.

The detectives do not suffer from the sometimes gruesome images. "You will learn about your own pitfalls," says Nek. You have to be conscious of that within yourself and sometimes have to decide that it is time to go out for a walk to take some distance and fresh air. "

Twice a year, the detectives go to a psychologist. Furthermore, colleagues pay attention to each other's well-being. Lindner has two children himself. "That helps a lot, if I have seen a lot of material, it's nice to just get home at the end of the day and spend some time with my own family."

More careful

The work has made them more cautious. "Many people are afraid that a scary man pulls their kids into the bushes and abuses them," says Lindner. "But the most abuse takes place in the immediate vicinity of the victim."

The detectives believe that parents should keep a closer eye on where their children reside and with whom. "Despite all regulations at associations, children are sometimes left alone with a supervisor," says Lindner. "How is that possible? As a parent you should make a point of it."

Marcel Nek: "We also still see cases, in which children turned up all day to spend time in the house of that nice, single man in the neighborhood."

Be critical, is their advice. Lindner: "People sometimes say to me: You see too much. In that moment I think, or you too little."

Pieter, these are amazingly sad stories. I am not sure what to say. It is hard to watch. I wonder how this woman was able to be taken from the family and kept as a child and as a sexual commodity for so many years. Her story sound almost unreal, yet, there is something about her that makes it to believe. If it happens, why these people from the network and the aristocrats are not persecuted?
