Another Earthquake amongst many along the Pacific Coast. This time is was in the South Western area of the state of Oaxaca {Mexico}. This area is historically an earthquake prone area along the Pacific Coast and although a bit frightening to many, not much damage or injuries have been reported. The quake was recorded as a 7.2 magnitude range and was reported to have reached Mexico City. Although known, the quake did not reach Puabla. Karl,
glad to hear that you were outside of the earthquake zone this time. Just a couple of weeks ago I read a story of Polish woman living in Mexico city. She said that eartquakes are so frequent there and very scary, but she still wants to live there.

Yes, Mexico City is very earthquake prone. The entire city is built up upon swamp land that has been reclaimed. Being as so, also is the location that Mexico received its name from the Mayans as they arrived.
