Hi, the second name was probably heavily modified and "ch" comes from "cz" or "sz". We talk about Polish matters, I can help with translations, but we are not here to assist people in their genealogical research. There are some legitimate services that you can pay to get help

Silly me! How could I ever have gotten the idea that polish culture forum\Genealogy - the study of family histories and ancestry was an inappropriate place to ask about the possible existence of two polish towns.
Pretty sure I saw other post related to finding polish towns.
My bad.

I am not Polish but am European, are you American? If your interest is in Polish towns of long past, perhaps also you may be interested in joining in the various conversations for you are welcomed to do so if you like. Karl

roots4fun,
you are correct, we were helping people in the past. Often we did not hear even 'thank you". Now we don't have resources anymore. If anything familiar would pop up in my mind I would help with the names, otherwise, with a husband who I had to take back from the surgery, full time job, Easter preparation and a project due Monday... sorry

How could I ever have gotten the idea that polish culture forum\Genealogy - the study of family histories and ancestry was an inappropriate place to ask about the possible existence of two polish towns. Pretty sure I saw other post related to finding polish towns. My bad. Asking your question and hoping for a good answer is quite reasonable! At one time there were some serious genealogists participating in this forum, and such information was happily shared. Currently it seems none of us is deeply into genealogy. Since this is a Forum of volunteers and depends upon the skills of the individuals, as well as catching them when we have the free time and skills to answer your question, we can't (it seems) currently answer your question. Now if you want to pick up the theme of Polish genealogy and become the resident expert on that theme, you would be most welcome! If you want to tell the world of your search and how you overcame the difficulties of time and language, then you could start a Topic under the genealogy category, and tell us of your experiences and discoveries, a paragraph or an article at a time. Please consider that! Your presence and expertise (seriously, from beginning phases of research through discoveries and building of expertise) would be most welcome. You may well provide the key other researchers in the future will need for their breakthrough! Kai
