Thor was one of the most important and famous gods in Norse mythology. He was the son of Odin and Fyorgyn, the earth goddess. Thor was considered the storm-weather god of sky and thunder and also a fertility god. His wife was Sif, a goddess also linked to fertility.

Oh, for the good old days of good paganism! It would be so much more fun to have a family of gods bickering and fighting and pulling nasty tricks on one another and on us - and give us quite good reason to explain the unexplainable!

P.S. This was in Poland. Where were the Slavic gods, were they sleeping or drunk?

Amazing image John. Nature sometimes creates incredible and almost scary images. Why do I say this. If there was such an image in the Netherlands often not long after that trees were blown off their roots, roofs of houses were blown of or an entire village or hamlet was destroyed. Like a hurricane in the USA. Strange colors like a Naples yellow sky like in this image, or pink or light green skies means trouble over here.
