Karl,
Maybe I am oldfashionate, conservative and to reluctant to see only positivity and innovative solutions in this development. I fear that this might lead to superiour robots with a merger of human qualities (running, walking, interacting, communicating and initiating plans, decision making, organising things and initiating own initiatives and actions). Dutch scientists and some Pro-Robots politicians and other supporters find me anxious and fearful, but it is possible that very intelligent robots with advanced motorical skills will be ready and willing to develop Intelligent designed robots who act as organic-mechenical humanoid robots who are very advanced, strong, flexible, dynamic, fast, strong and independent and autonomous.
No soul, no human spirit (energy), but human created technology, physics, chemistry, Information Communication technology (advanced hardware and software) inside the robots, Audio Visual technology which cooperates with robot machinery (mechanics) and integrated in organic materials that form the outer layers of these robots. Crazy scientists, crazy lobbyists, crazy corporate interests and some crazy Futurist Pro-Robot and Robotics politicians will continue to support this developments. I ask questions about the moral (value) and ethical implications of this robot development. Not only in the military sense and in the sense of political dangers of a robot mass, but also in the social economical and cultural fields. Will robots replace human workers, human civil servants, human police officers, hum soldiers and officers? Will we have robot wars? Some futuristic films might seem fantasy or Science Fiction, but they also might be true predictions.
Cheers, Pieter

Thank you for your interest with such a very valid and real scenario questioning mind. For your concerns are very valid. For if for all the reasons not meant to be, man {man not as sex, but as homo sapiens} such as examples you have rightly brought forward for military use/killers with out conscience.
Robots at this present time have been in reality for some time, just being refined to be more human like. What is progressing more rapidly in designing and refining robots to be more human like is unfortunately in the sex business as exampled in the following url. With this though, for some time in Japan as companions to lonely fellows.
Robots though, in reality, have the potentual of real and present exchange for humans in very dangerious situations such as defusing explosive weapons/toxic conditions in such accidents as nuclear and radio active situations that would be lethal to the human body.
Once fully developed, robots would of course be very useful in industry in areas of better control of quality and close tolerance work that would be difficult for human beings to attain.
I realize, my short answer and related descriptions do not exactly fully answer your questions and related concerns. Whilst though, being short, it is of some hope the video will describe such short comings and strength related to currant advancement in engineering human like characteristics into an artificial being.

Nice machine, wonder if he/her is on loan or lease? One question though, how to determine sex of robot so as not to cause any injured feelings..

Yes, a good demonstration of use of impersonation by use of a Robot such as the Melanie Trump model. Actually, if to manufacture such models {of course much more advanced engineered} to impersonate some world leaders, these would have their uses...For a price.
