Kai, A 7.0 earthquake is not a small occurrence. I hope this message finds you safe and well.
For the people who don't know, a 7.0 earthquake hit Anchorage Alaska area about 2.5 to 3 hours ago. I am on a live face book feed with a station from Anchorage.

Yes, I am fine, thanks for asking. I worked late into the night so was sleeping when it hit, 8:28 by my clock. I lost one lamp and one vase, but the house is between cleanings, so the earthquake just rearranged things. The city will be shutting off water for some major repairs, so I had best head for a shower while I can! Kai PS. supposed to be 7.0 5 miles north of Anchorage, while I live 5 miles east of downtown. Depth was around 25 miles. Power was just out 1 hour in our neighborhood.

Maybe you need to move to the East Coast Kai.

Kai
I suppose myself am a day late and a bit short with this, but it came over our news this morning and your safety has been on my mind most of this day, very happy you are ok.
Now that you mentioned it, I do see some dust bunnies about in my flat also..Should clean, but, for every answer, there lays the question of, Why..

Kai,
I learned about Alaska's earthquake after I came back home and I immediately thought about you also. I am glad you are OK. Keep the piece of vase as a rememberance of what happened.

On news today they say the earthquake was picked up on the sizagram (spelling?) here in Rochester. Depending on magnatude it took roughly 25 minutes to reach us here in Rochester, NY.

Thanks for all your concerns, things went well for me and after minor cleanup I come to Boston for the ASEEES conference, and it looks. Like my last day will be on Lithuanian- Poland history. The selection of topics is so thick and broad you cannot catch all the hood presentations! I should do a report on the Polish offerings when I am back at my computer. On the meante, here is a pretty good report on the Alaska earthquake response. www.theverge.com/2018/12/8/18128983/alaska-earthquake-roads-fixed-anchorage-damageI expected no less from our peppople. I worked construction and engineering, and they lived up to my expectations. I also on part of the emergency response systems, and they ate also of the highest quality. Kai
