Hi-here in the states we consumers have to worry about the quality of our fresh foods-such as produce. Just a few days ago, a California based company has recalled spinach again.
I recall seeing the pictures of the farm market foods in Poland-do the Polish people have to worry about the safety of their foods like we do in the states? Joyce

Joyce,
Polish food is expected according to European Union standards which are probably even stricter than in the US. But... frankly, I could not guarantee that everything is inspected on the farmer markets etc.... I remember from the past, there were some cases of poisoning by eating for instance the ice-cream with bacteria "Staphylococcus aureus " and these cases were quite amplified.
I am pretty sure that there are more cases on and off which we just do not know about. But the food hygiene is better in Poland than 20 years ago for sure, especially thanks to EU.
Russia banned some Polish products but this is more from political reasons than anything else.
