I (Pieter) have to say that despite this video is from a Social Conservative who criticizes the in his eyes leftwing American education system and universities, I agree with this video completely. Liberals and Leftist Socialists are different things, but many Americans and European can't differentiate between the 2. Nancy Pelosi is for instance a classical liberal and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a leftist socialist Democrat who is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America. Where Nancy Pelosi clearly spoke out against socialist economical policies, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rashida Tlaib stand for Socialist leftist financial, social and economical policies. Nancy Pelosi is respected by Donald Trump, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rashida Tlaib are not.
I understand that the Democrats close their ranks now, due to the power of Trump, rightwing Populist media and press in the USA and other conservative and populist powers in the USA. But it is an uneasy, unnatural, and difficult unity. The Centrist democrats, the conservative democrats and the liberal wing of the democrats will have difficulties with the left and far left in their party. They will have an uneasy alliance with the Socialist and Social Democratic wing of their party. They know looking at Bill Clintons succes that a New Democrat course would have more succes, because the majority of Americans are rather conservative and traditional. There is a very strong anti-leftist, anti-socialist, anti-Marxist, anti-communist and anti-Social Democratic (Labour party) tradition in the USA with American conservatives, liberals, libertarians, Independents and others. Liberal, Democratic presidents and administrations struggle with the SovjetUnion and had anti-socialist policies. Harry S. Truman, Lyndon B. Johnson, Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton and Barack Obama were and are liberals, not leftist socialists.
Dennis Mark Prager (/ˈpreɪɡər/) (born August 2, 1948] is an American conservative radio talk show host and writer. Born into an Orthodox Jewish family, his initial political work concerned Soviet Jews who were unable to emigrate. He gradually began offering more and broader commentary on politics. His views generally align with social conservatism. He founded PragerU, an American non-profit organization that creates videos on various political, economic, and philosophical topics from a conservative perspective.
In 2009, Prager started a website called PragerU[/b], which creates five-minute videos on various topics from a conservative perspective. According to Prager, he created the site to challenge the "unhealthy effect intellectually and morally" of the American higher education system. BuzzFeed described PragerU as "one of the biggest, most influential and yet least understood forces in online media." As of 2018 it spent around 40% of its annual $10 million budget on marketing; each video is produced according a consistent style. Videos cover topics such as "racism, sexism, income inequality, gun ownership, Islam, immigration, Israel, police brutality" and speech on college campuses. BuzzFeed wrote that "the biggest reason PragerU has escaped national attention is that it mostly doesn't do Trump," or engage with the political news cycle. Some of its videos were restricted by YouTube in 2017.
