The following is the visual of the effects upon the ship as it navigates through foul weather. Although the video shows the hull and structure as it moves under stress, it is under no endangerment but in that stead is obsorbing stress. For if the hull and structure were to be stiff and non-complient, the ship would in time break apart. What is not shown, is the sounds of structure movement, for this is how a ship talks, it is speaking that all is well, it is when there is a tearing, ripping sound for then the ship is crying in pain for help.

On the smallest scale it is fun to take a folding kayak into somewhat rough waters, as it is built to flex and you can intimately feel the sea through your bottom and legs. Getting into a rigid kayak also offers a nice experience, but without the flexing.

The following is typical winter storms in our part of the world of the North Sea. In choppy water a person to find them selves tossed in to the sea even with flotation device on, will find it difficult to breath for no matter the direction to face, water hits the face. In such seas as below, a person in the water has little chance to survive for other then a few short minutes.
