Yes,,how well I do agree with you,,all this food make me hungry also..The only resolution is, in a couple of hours will be our mid-day break for lunch..The canteen usually has a nice selection to choose from and is usually wasted on my self. For I eat simple and basic and try to choose as many greens to go with my meal. Then wash this all down with some black coffee, some times for a desert will be some apple pie, for the cooks do make up very attractive foods so I do not have an plausible excuse.
At the flat, it varies considerable, for what ever sounds good, some times a TV dinner with a side of fried potatoes, green beans, or what ever is withen reach. Or, simply some thing like a bowl of oatmeal and a hard roll. Other times, some good wurst, boiled potatoes with carrots or simular.
They have a terrible selection at the markets on fresh fish which makes sense, for this is a mountain area and fish must be frozen for shipment. I realize the above most certainly will not appeal to many, but my self am not starving, for there are several very nice restaurants close by that serve very good dinners at nice prices. Mexican food? Speaking only for my self, I will eat it, but not my first choice.

Karl,
I am not surprised that the Mexican food is not your first choice since you are surrounded by this type of food all the time. It looks that you like German food quite a lot. I do like German and Polish food but rather in winter, not in summer.

Karl, I am not surprised that the Mexican food is not your first choice since you are surrounded by this type of food all the time. It looks that you like German food quite a lot. I do like German and Polish food but rather in winter, not in summer. Recently when traveling in Europe I reported choosing and enjoying vegetarian meals, and I was criticized for not enjoying access to traditional ethnic meals as I grew up with in America. My answer was that I feel at home in Europe, and when at home I eat what I wish. Then again, few people think that food in Europe has moved on from what our grandparents prepared and ate. I would say a typical family meal in Europe seems to be chicken, potatoes and a vegetable, not the hard to prepare and heavy to consume foods of the grandparents. Then again, in the grandparents time meat was not as common as today, and meals and recipes were often vegetarian by default, if not by plan. Kai
