Dear friends,
I want to post this message not to point at a jewish case per se, but the fact that there is intolerance, agression and violence against minorities in Western-Europe too. We often hear messages like these about central- and Eastern-Europe, Russia, Soouthern-Europe, the Middle-East, Africa, the America's or Australia. But it exists right next door over here too. This is a sad case.
Cheers,
Pieter

Jewish family terrorized in Dutch village for years
The heavily battered house of a Jewish family in Hippolytushoef. A heavy firework bomb exploded there on Wednesday.
Hippolytushoef - A Jewish family in Hippolytushoef in the Dutch province of North-Holland has been terrorized for a long time by a group of teenagers from the village. Last Wednesday night a window in their home on De Elft was blown up with fireworks, the Noord Hollands Dagblad writes.

The Schmidt family consists of a father, a mother and five children between the ages of 16 and 25. They tell NH News that it is already the eighth incident in three years.
In the twenty years that the family has lived in Hippolytushoef, they have been harassed dozens of times. "We had a tree trunk through the window and also an ice block. People who cycle past and call "cancer Jews." Swastikas in the snow in front of our house. This is anti-Semitism, "they tell the channel.
The police report that there have been reports of harassment for years. "This includes swearing, yelling, minor vandalism and damage from fireworks," police spokesman Menno Hartenberg told the newspaper. "We will only know whether it is actually anti-Semitism once the perpetrators are caught. But even if that is not the case and the family is being bullied because they "come from outside the village" this is of course unacceptable. "
Wednesday morning around three o'clock, light fireworks were first thrown through the letterbox of the family home. When father Schmidt went to look downstairs, a much heavier explosive was thrown in. That caused a thunderous bang. It seems that the man was first deliberately lured down. A window was blown out of the frame by the explosion. Local broadcaster Regio Noordkop speaks of a "targeted attack".
Privacy law
According to the Noordkop site, a group of suspects was arrested once in 2008. "But they were released again because there was insufficient evidence. This is despite the fact that they were recorded on a security camera. Only this camera belonged to a private individual who had made recordings of the public highway, which is not permitted in connection with the privacy law, ”the site writes.
Reward
Local residents who now think that not enough has been done to track down the perpetrators have promised a reward themselves. 200 euros has already been raised for the golden tip, reports Wieringernieuws.
