Chris,
yes, this is very true. Did you notice that the guy talks about Saudi Arabia as the most conservative islam country? WHy the US does not go after Saudis or Turks but they go after Iranians?
There is a right there that Europe is generally soft on other religions. But I guess, this is not everywhere, in France girls cannot wear Muslim head covers.

We don't mess with the Saudi's because of oil interests. Becuz GWBush has friends/allies in the Saudi government. I don't know about Turkey. But the Iranians-it's because Bush is still fighting his daddy's war and the 911/World Trade Centers vow-"you have awaken a sleeping giant." Joyce TX

As far as Turkey-I had to look that up-I do recall hearing on the news this week that the US wants to keep their interests solid in Turkey because of the US troops fighting the war in Iran. The article went on to say that 70% of the army's supplies travel thru Turkey to get to the troops in Iran. Mr. Bush would want not to make enemies in Turkey and have the supply lines cut off and starve the troops-ammo & food. Behind this, there is political pressure to "poo poo" Turkey for genocide atrocities that happened back in 1915. Sometimes I think that our Prez. and our country is involved in too many worldly affairs which we have no business being in. Let the United Nations handle war atrocities. Bush has enough on his plate now that he has little control over-other than veto-ing bills that special interest groups want passed. Joyce TX

Joyce TX Joyce, but this is sad and this means that the wars have nothing to do with justice but only with politics! We do not want to attack Iran "to spread democracy" but to strenghten American interests in the region. This is not America which I was hoping it would be, before I came here.

In Turkey, girls can't wear headscarves to school.
But Turkey's a tough case for everyone. The U.S. want to play nice because the Turkish military is what's keeping Turkish Islam at bay. Germany doesn't want to let Turkey into the EU because it has too many people and would wield too much power (and more in the future: Germany's population is falling, Turkey's population is rising).
As for Iran, Bush seems to think the worst things that go on in Iran are Holocaust denials and vague threats against Israel. Which is supercrime#1 and supercrime#2, so there we go. I don't think the Saudis do anything that bad.

What did you expect America to be like? Did someone sell you a "pipe dream" of the land of milk & honey? And that everything was fair & equal? I had to learn that life is not always fair, there will be someone who will have more than what you have, there are some who have less than what you have. There are some who abuse their powers even tho they say they "work for the people." I am not trying to be sarcastic, but I really want to know what you thought America was going to be like. Joyce TX

["But this is sad and this means that the wars have nothing to do with justice but only with politics!"] Most military actions the US has participated in are of a political/corporate nature. WWII is a rare exception.
