Bob, Do you talk to anyone named Lila (not sure of spelling) from Rochester. We meet her at the beach each year. She is a sweet German lady that drives there to swim everyday. She has fascianting stories to tell. She uses a ham radio and also knows morse code. She still goes to conventions all over the world.

Bob, So you like astronomy! My husband is an amateur astronomer and our home is slowly filling up with telescopes, eyepieces, tripods and other assorted items. Do you do any astrophotography?

I have 6 eyepieces and 7 filters and the very next thing I get will be a reducer/flatner to bring the f10 down to about f6.3. Even with a low power eyepiece (32mm) I feel like I am walking on the Moon when I point the scope in that direction. When I get that reducer i'll be able to get the camera holder for a little astrophotography. I still have a long way to go and a lot to learn but our friend Leslie Rae has a handle on that because he has been at it longer than me. ;D

Thank you Bob - I will take that as a compliment. But a few years ago I was a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and I Edited and published the monthly magazine 'The Moon' for the British Astronomical Association (the sort of junior {in qualifications in a way of the R.A.S.}. So it was not just in years! Happy comet/dome/dust storms/nova hunting. Leslie

Bob, very impressive communications/photographic imaging room!!
Looks like you have global capability there.
Now, when you transfered the image from you digital down load, did you cut and paste using the folder number? The reason I ask is this, when I try it, it works, but, the image comes through so large, that only a small side portion will carry over.

So there's 2 astronomers on this board! I could get really into it if I had more time. Right now, my involvement consists of my husband taking his scope out front on clear nights and calling me to come out and have a look when he's located something of interest! He would like to do some astrophotography at some point.

Leslie and Suzannem. A few nights ago I was observing Mars; I pointed my scope away from Mars and observed a part of the sky that seemed devoid of anything and the sky through the scope just lit up with stars and clusters. I invited my wife to have a look and she was lit up with amazement. We have moderate light pollution but even under these conditions, the scope gives a good account of itself. I notice that there are eyepieces that cost almost as much as my scope but I will leave those to persons who are professional astronomers or proffesors. I am having fun with what I have. ;D

That was the 1st time I tried uploading pictures and I used the wrong size. Next time I will try the smaller size and that should work better. I will even try to edit the photos that are on there now. With 100 Watts from my transceiver I can talk to most of Eastern and western Europe, Africa and parts of the Mid East. With 500 Watts from my linear amp. I have talked to Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Right now propagation is bad so my activity on the radio is low but, I keep listening. Charles

Charles, Bob,
do you have the "automatic resize" box checked? I believe this will make the images fit on the screen, and then if you want to see "full size" you can click on that option to see the giant-sized picture.
I love webshots....

There are so many of them that at times I get confused. Resize? Cm, MM, inches, Pixels etc.: Resize? To fit Screen? Crop? Stretch? For e-mail? For folder? For album? For VCD?

Excellent BobS: Either you're a short wave radio enthusiast who also loves astronomy, or a peeping tom that monitors the police radio! ;D Nice Pics...
