Nothing really interesting about it. :-). I promise I will look for an intersting topic I could write , about Brodnica, or maybe something nearby. Yanc. Nothing happened in hisotry of the area? How did the great wars and plagues and different armies marching through affect the village or town? Is there anything to "macro" history you can add by telling us the "micro" view from Brodnica experience? Kai

Thanks everyone for your input
Over 90% of the polish nation has been baptized Catholic and 78% of the whole country attends service on a regular basis. The church provides a great moral authority especially during their trying times of war.
Concentrating on current religous beliefs is there anything that is unique to that in Poland or its impact on society.

The high position of catholic church comes from the fact that the church unified Poles in the hard times of lack of independence, wars and communism. check: culture.polishsite.us/smpeople.html#POPEand culture.polishsite.us/articles/art271.htmlChurch in Poland; Are Poles good Catholics?

Yanc, Write about your sister city to the north, Brodnica, they have an old castle there. Yanc, yes, I was thinking you are from this other Brodnica. Still, I am planning on writing something about Polish villages. You know Polish villages are unique, Americans do not really have villages except "Village people"

We still have some villages around here except sadly what is happening is that many are selling their land off to make room for suburb housing and malls ...(Uuugh!!). Slowly the beautiful landscapes are disappearing.
