So you smoke in your car cause it is your car and you can, so you do what you want with it..I know. But did you know how the person riding along with you feels when they have to ride in a smoking car and can't breath and when they exit your car must have their clothes fumigated. Same with sitting in your car smoking and all that smoke that escapes in a rush. Were I worked we had a non smoking and smokers closet for coats. When the smokers came in from their smoke breaks they smelled up the whole office as they reaked with smoke. Just recently I was driving and had to stop for a red light and all of a sudden I smelled smoke and it affected my breathing...it was the car next to me and his windows were not even down. (I was really surprised with that one) Smokers don't realize just how much they affect others. And here is something to think about when dating.....straight from my ex's lips. He was dating a lady he said he liked but told me she smoked so end of relationship...got me to thinking.

rdywenur,
This is your thinking, but, I think you are nuts. You can not be hurt by the smoke from the car next to you. This is just going to far. Next you will to tell what to eat, and where. Some want to much control. This did not hurt your father, or grandfather, why does it kill you?

;D ;D If you have ever been in a room that has 50 women and 50 different perfumes and 50 different cosmetics; the smell is enough to choke on. If you pass some gas, the smell is ok to you; if someone else passes gas, the aroma is obnoxious. The aroma that smells good to you may want me to gasp for air. I cannot eat Liver and the smell of it makes me want to puke. Perhaps we can put a ban on Liver and Liver eaters. ;D ;D

B0b et al who posted in a like manner. I think you are just going too far (I hope). Even in UK where the no smoking legal rules relate to indoors in public places, including trains and buses. Nobody here has said that this ban also applies to in your own car, in your own house, out in the street etc although there is a continuing discussion about what can be done. Is this being suggested in U.S., Nederland or Poland? If so I would agree with your views. But stop mocking it - we are talking about the health of people who may suffer from our actions if we smoke in the enclosed spaces. This is a serious subject. Leslie

Valpo...how do you know if it didn't. Do you know my grandfather and father. I did not tell you what to do. I am relating my experineces and how they offend me. I mentioned the car incident cause I could not believe that the car next to me could have bothered me and if you go back and read my statemnt you will see this. I have lost dear friends from lung desease and they were young. They were not smokers. Try being on oxygen some time.

rdywenur,
I know many people that were killed by a drunk driver, but that looks to be overlooked by many. We need to stop the people who overdrink, and hurt others. Smoke can not be as bad as a driver who had to much to drink, or the guy in a bar who wants to fight since he has to much to drink.

To reply to your vile remark: Yes, it is very well understood of smelling smoke from another vehicle, if the operator has the fresh air intake engaged, the interior air is exhausted out the rear of the vehicle. This is opposite of interior recirculate. This then is fundamental of smelling of the exhausted interior air. This is a fundamental fact, you are an investigator, please investigate.. or do we Germans must teach to you all of fundamental of that you should know? Charles

Bob S...are you sure you are not my husband in deguise? The comment about the "gas" ROFLOL-(rolling on floor laughing out loud)-is something he would say. Then he would say "beware of elevators and large groups of people in them." Now I agree about some of the women who douse themselves with too much perfume, but there are some men who swim in their cologne/after shave too. I broke my habit of wearing perfume a long time ago-when I was outside and I had bees come after me. No, my name ain't "honey." P.s.-I cooked liver & onions one time. The taste was awful! Yuck! I tried to feed the liver to our dog, so it wouldn't go to waste...but she took one bite, spit it out and didn't eat the rest. If the dog didn't eat it, it must have been pretty bad.

I also got a kick out of Bob's remarks!
I have to agree with you about Liver...yuck...just the smell of it cooking makes me ill.
Bees love some colognes..you must have smelled like a flower. I no longer wear any colognes or anything with a scent if I can get unscented. My GS with autism is highly sensitive to smells as well as other other things. I never wore much or often anyhow.

Haa, just a comment only please. For matters of conformity in dress and personal habits as out lined in our civil service hand book of personal dress of female and male personal. It is prohibit of wearing of strong smell perfume in attendance of both male and female within the work place of common attendance. The wearing of personal attire that would gain and promote to male employees as an distraction to duties as prescribed by work description. By personal observation, it then comes down to personal hygiene, this person is hiding not of partaking of proper bathing habits and is in this stead, hiding their body stink, with use of fumigation, so named, as {perfume}. Charles,
Your problem smell would not be from perfume, or smoke, but from inside. I want to like you, but you make it hard. Yes I am a Private Investigator, and one of the best, but you like many don't understand my job. I hoped that with the new year, you could change, but if you did, it was for the worst. Have a great day, and God Bless You and Yours.

Or, am I wrong? Charles Depends on who you are asking or talking to. I do know that as we age our sense of smell decreases as with our hearing decreases also. It maybe that some women or men put on too much cologne/perfume because they either think they didn't spray enough on or the scent they have been wearing does not work with their body chemistry. What may smell great in a bottle, may smell awful on your skin. I used to wear "Passion" but now it smells awful. "Sand and Sable" was a nice scent for someone I knew, but not on me. Sometimes I smell better after I have rolled in the dirt a few hours... ;D I mean to say-been outside working in the garden in the fresh air.
