Forza, you done a great job to be able to identify the chapel, many thanks! When I looked at this picture yesterday night - for me it looked just like a regular road chapel but you did all this work to figure out where it is and what it is

forza, you are the best at finding information for us! I wish I could read the text on those websites, but looking a the photos is satisfying for now. so - do you know where the cannon ball sits in the chapel? was it left where it landed?

I am elated / overjoyed to have a specific answer to my question And I appreciate the amount of time and work that you used to dig out the answers. Not knowing Polish, there was no way I could have found such specific information. I checked the site and saw almost the exact same pictures I'd taken of the castle. and then I went back and looked at my map, and there in tiny letters was Podzamce. When you, initially, wrote Ogrodzieniec, I assessed that web site and knew that wasn't "my place" - too large a city; chapels too big. I hate to show a picture and just say something like "Oh, I thought it was a pretty little chapel...they are all over the place." It is a nice little village, and I certainly would like to go back there with a little more time. I also appreciate all the other opinions about why chapels like these were built. Again, many thanks...GM
