Which new folder would you like to create?

My suggestion stays the same - why go to the formality of separate folders when we already have the facility by people keeping their postings to the relevant thread or starting a new one? I thought the voting was against sub-folders?

I voted No. I am against such splitting.

First of all, I believe Ockham`s razor principle is a good one. We shouldn`t multiply things beyond necessity.

Secondly, putting Russia in a seperate folder would look like an attempt to ghettosise it, isolate it for silly nationalistic purposes.
Russian threads should stay with all the others, in one folder.

There was a mistake in my previous posting, I had a reaction on Jaga's statement, in which I said that I voted for the
last option "Something else", because I am against ethnic Folders, in a Polish culture forum, because then you have to
have a folder for each ethnic group, every Nationality that participates.
In Polish context that would mean that you have to create a ethnic Polish folder, a Kashubian Folder, a german folder,
a Ukranian Folder, a Tartar folder and a Jewish Folder. I aggreed with Pavian in another threat and that's why I copied it.
Seperating Europe, America and Russia in differant Folders would also not be wise, because then Adam, Jerzy and I would be
in the European folder discussing European issues; Jaga, Nancy, Leslie and Bob will be in the American Folder and Eric will be in the Russian folder holding a dialoge with himself ending in monologes. This would create Solopsist circumstances.

My favorite structure would be Folders based on subjects that have a professional or interest meaning.
For instance a News & Politics folder, a Culture & Art folder, a East-European cultures folder (because the
reason we are here is because we are interested in Poland and its environment), a Poland in Europe
folder (about Polands position towards the EU and other European countries), a Diaspora folder
and a folder about Polish history. In this last folder people may post threats about European and
American history, because in both histories Poles played a role.
Polish history, present and Future is European, simply because Poland is a large European country,
and in the same time most Americans have Europen roots and have a European culture.

The United Kingdom is NOT in America thank you, I am pleased to say!!!! ;D But as you will see I agree with you - apart from being in Europe (and I'm not so sure about UK anyway) we have three countries not really in common.

I voted for "something else" .... I agree with Pieter and Piwo to have a couple of additional folders based on "News and Politics" and "Culture and Art" and "Food" (where all the yummy recipes can go.)

This forum has been open only one week, but we already have over 1000 posts, and I already cannot find a couple of posts I want to revisit.

I'm glad we set up the genealogy folder, because those of us interested in tracing our Polish roots do not have to clog the main pipeline with our threads - and then we can find those threads and information easily again.

that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Now, I am so confused!!! We are having before us, an entire forest so thick with ideas, it is just diificult to see the trees. But, it is matters before us of the heart and needs discussing.

I voted for the seporate folder to be: Super powers Russia and America (sorry leslie) as an option... I still feel that the folder should be placed as a designed completed folder and kept back untill needed. In this manner, when the main board begins to show signs of clogging up, then, the new folder could then be placed into action.

But, as I have before made mention, what ever is decided by all, is fine with me. I will adapt and do very well with what we have.

For is not life, this way?

The ,"News and politics", folder is an excellent idea, why not? Then, it would not be an irritation to those not belonging to the Russia/American camp.

By keeping the choice down to a manageable level, it is much easier to think and decide.

Remember, there are only two choices in this known world----yes---no, the remainder are just wasting time.

Of all the choices made, boy, I am so very thankfull for the spell check feature....
