gardenmoma - trawling through my faulty memory, didn't you say you spent time in the Tonbridge area of Kent? Well, it just hit the headlines - biggest robbery in UK history (GBP 50m)

Yes, I am permanently in Russia. Why did I leave UMass? I graduated. They gave mea diploma. I had no more reason to stay. By the way, have you noticed... only UMass Amherst students will say just "UMass" to refer to the school. Students from other UMass campuses still haven't caught on that just saying "UMass" refers only to Amherst. I don't really miss Boston that much, no. I miss my own town, though.

Eric
Thank you for bringing us up to date on your travels. It is good that you have found at an early date in time, the location in life that fits your needs and requirements. There are so many road directions in life and it is to us, to choose our direction of travel. It looks as if you have found your destination.
Have you completed your education at present? Or are you to continue for a higher degree?
Your work, have you found where your interest lays in respect to what you want to accomplish?
Is it difficult to obtain your Russian citizenship?
Well how ever, I do wish you the very best and confident you will do very well in what endeavor your heart will set you to do.
As your missing of your home town. This is natural as it was your beginning in life. I must admit that I think I understand, but, in reality, do not, as I have never had a home town and there fore do not understand truly what it would be to miss it.
You are one of the lucky ones..
Charles

I received by BA from UMass, and now I'm studying at the St Petersburg State Polytechnical University for my Master's (in Russian - magistratura). Citizenship isn't necessarily a hard thing - it just requires patience and a lot of time. Or a wedding - then it comes immediately. Thanks for your post!

Right now I think I'd rather be drawn and quartered than get married.
