Listen to Polish chart toppers 2005 songs at the site. Carl: www.radio.com.pl/polonia/article.asp?tId=31343&j=2Two of the past year's hottest properties - at least when it comes to looks - Mandaryna (left) and Doda Elektroda (right), the latter better known as 'Virgin'. Mandaryna ruled Poland's club scene, even if she failed miserably during a televised live show from the Sopot Song Contest. Doda Elektroda proved she can sing, but that's probably not the sole reason she rose to stardom. Michal Zajac rounds up on some of the biggest chart successes of 2005, which also include old timers Kombi and Maryla Rodowicz, newcomers ethnic highlanders' band Zakopower (pictured below), Krzysztof Kiljanski and the Polish britpop band Wilki.

Ok Carl,
Here is a mission. Where can we buy some of these CDs. I know Merlin.pl sells them but with shipping they become costly. And SKOK in Canada sells them. Any other sources?

Jim, I am not sure if this dealer will have the music you are looking for, but you might have a look. www.chazzforjazz.com/servlet/Page?template=about"We offer the largest selection of jazz music from Poland as well as from other European countries and the United States. We also offer classical, folk, rock and pop music on CD and vinyl, many unique DVD movies, special gifts and more." If you email them about the CDs you are looking for, they might be able to help - they were really nice when I had questions about some folk music I was looking for. I think they are in California.

There's practically no representation of Polish music in the Russian media.

I couldn't stand alot of the new Polish music when I was in Poland over the summer. I wanted to shoot the TV anytime that half-wit Doda Elektroda or that weirdo Mandaryna came on. I remember a presenter on a channel called "4fun.tv" making fun of of her.

Ewa Sonnet is number 3 and getting into competition with Mandaryna and Doda. Her video clip is available at www.ewasonnet.pl/36 MG clip I'd like to read comments from anybody who would see it.

forza, I don't think I will watch the video, but I read a little of her "about me" comments " Just because one can find plenty of my topless photos on the internet doesn´t mean, after all, that I am some kind of "very *friendly* person." " lol

I enjoy her voice, but not her physique. I prefer a woman who is short, chubby & top-heavy. Carl
