Dear Neville, this forum is for people like you and me - interested in Polish culture and history. You may be interested because you are Polish or in spite of not being Polish. Frankly, I find it fascinating that you became interested in a military history without being even Polish. It is a great honor for us to have you here

You are welcome here as Jaga has stated. if you want to stay it is your decision. I don't think you would be kicked out. That is not how the forum works. Just contribute and enjoy or just enjoy as an observer your choice.

I know this is an old thread but why fight about it? You are what you want to be. I have NO Polish blood but I still feel welcome here. I have a thread running on a Polish Air Force squadron and it has been well received. Will you kick me out of the forum when it finishes? I hope not and I don't think so. Polish people are good and decent people, so just be proud of that. Neville Nevelle Think not of leaving, for that will not be of the runes of Teutonic. I may not speak for the Polish people of here, but, I am of confidence, they speak as of my self. For of a village of citizen, you are of us, ok? So, think not that you will be forlorn once your thread of history will reach for how ever. For then the road way of other will then open to you of follow in as much of destiny. For of this, have little answer of. For the light of truth will provide you with your path of follow. Karl

Wow!!!
I made a comment on Poish people. I have the deepest respect for those newcomers that I know and for those "oldcomers" who proved their worth to his country so long ago. I have not got one drop of Polish blood but buckets full of respect for the Poles. That's what I wanted to say. The responses above have touched me deeply and I thank you all for your kindness. Even when I have nothing left to post on 304 Squadron, I will stay if I'm welcome. Judging by the responses above, I am. Thank you all again from a humble foreigner.
Kindest wishes to you all.
Neville

On re-reading this thread, I think I can prove Tim's point. I have no Polish blood and I'm not awesome or good looking. You win Tim!

Freetobe,
Thanks for your support. I note that your avatar is a snake and looks remarkably like a cobra. I am ophidiophobic, that is to say that I am irrationally scared of snakes - even harmless ones. However, I visited Thailand a couple of years ago and was sold a Buddha by a Buddhist monk. It was my protecting spirit (based on my date of birth). This Buddha was surmounted by a King cobra! So from now on, I guess you are my guardian angel!

I am new to this board and your post was the first one I 'clicked' on because I liked the "ok so what am I". I was born in the US as was my father (I am not sure about my grandfather). I am looking for history and have not been sucessful finding any records on where my grandfather was born. He's obviously deceased. I think I am of polish blood based on my name and I think if Neville is welcome here maybe I will be too? ;-) I am here to learn about Polish people and poland. Yikes! I just noticed this post was last updated in 2008, is this true?

That name might also be Scotch Irish. But who would want to be tagged with a common ordinary name like Smith, Jones or Black. Anyway, welcome to the forum and you will learn how to navigate through it. If you need further help, you can always ask Jaga because she is la gran jefe here.

Not sure as certain, for each is an individual situation either by choice or accident of birth. But in the academic world of probability, perhaps the following url would be of assistance for your first name. The second, has the sound of East European, whilst as a note: Pulanski was/is an American inventor of a tool named after him to fight fires of the forest. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yolandaen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulaski_(tool)Karl

My mother was born in America but her parents were born in Poland. My mother refused to be called Polish but she called herself Polish American Born. She never went back to Poland since she was 17 years. She was raised in Poland since she was 1 1/2 years. So she wasn't happy living in Poland. Which is why Mom called herself American.
