Com'on folks, this miissile installation is about money and politics. That is my opinion sans game plan book. Why does the US believe that missiles in Poland will deter terroism or protect the countries of Poland and the US from a nuclear attack? Is it really about the Russian government? Maybe. The Bush administration has only another six months to continue thier failed policies. We can only hope and pray that a change in our governments direction will happen after the November elections. BTW, why is it that snippets of news stories are presented as meaningful? That is only the agencies take on reports from government news sources? Reuters is no more reliable then the AP or CNN.

If Congress has its way, the missile defense shield in Poland won't happen before 2013. The latest news are that the Congress is now poised to require additional three trial interceptor launches — a process that could take years. Some people in Poland are going to be disappointed because of the loss of prospective 100 million dollars a year in local revenue. But for me it is a wise move. The money is not everything, and the money can be recouped in a more peaceful trade with Russia. Poland should be thinking peace while peace is possible. The shield seems to be a source of unnecessary alienation at a time when Russians appear to try to be friends. Moreover, the system costs billions and if not properly tested, it may prove to be a useless "elephant." A pause in its installation, on the other hand, may usher more peace and more benefits to Poland in other ways.
