Jaga and Marek, The new site look beautiful! I really like how clean and informative it is - very professional! Kudos all around. The only thing I could see is that (at least for me and my browser (Safari) the entertainment and food and recipe button on the left hand side is doubled. Thank you both for showing how much you care about Polish culture and making sure that the word gets out! H

Jaga...the new website is beautiful, it's great that you have a new look to show off all of your hard work. You certainly deserve it.
Hope you get your internet situation straightened out.
Marek...good job, you are very talented. I know how much work is involved in putting together an information site like this. The content management software will make it so much easier on Jaga. Interesting that you choose Joomla for the site, good choice. That's the cms I use on my Polish Texans site. I do wish I had the time and energy to upgrade to the newer version you are using.

Jaga,
It looks fine in Windows when viewed in IE 7, Safari, Opera and Firefox. The center content is way down when viewed on IE 6 leaving a blank space at the top. What browser are you using?

Jaga
As of this moment, it is an alternating series of photographs. The problem must have been taken care of.. Actually quite nice photographs..

I also see a photograph, taking rather a long time to load on my 56 kbps dial-up. I use Firefox.

Hello everyone, Thank you for your comments and I very much appreciate that you took the time to visit the site and post here. When working on the site, I have many times visited www.polish-texans.com with envy. It is such a well done website. Please make sure you visit it! My goal was to redesign the site and place it in a content management system to ease the task of maintaining the site. If there was one thing I have firmly learned while working on Canadian Digital Information Strategy at the National Library, is that digital information is more brittle than books printed on acid paper. Digital information needs to be updated and emulated frequently, and unlike books, if not maintained, it is not going to be here in a 100 years... or even ten. Which also brings me to the issue of browsers. I believe that I have solved the overlapping navigation issue in Safari, but if you still see a problem, please let me know. The dropped main column in IE6 is more difficult to identify. I will look for a solution, but in the mean time if you experience this problem, as I have already mentioned to Jagoda, the quickest solution may be if you upgrade to a newer version of Internet Explorer such as IE7 (IE8 is available in beta). I would also like to encourage people to try Firefox - the most popular and standard compliant browser for widows. Again, I very much appreciate all your comments and on my and Jagoda's behalf "Thank you for visiting!" www.polishsite.usMarek Ps tex: I decided to work with Joomla after having spent quite a bit of time reserching CMSs. It seems to me to be the most intuitive in its category as you would agree I think. However, it was not my first choice. I was hoping first to use typolight which is a fully accessible CMS, but it is not there yet it terms of capability. It is great for smaller websites - I designed my own site in typolight. I look forward to seeing both Joomla and Drupal released in php5, which will probably happen sometime next year or even by the end of this one. I hope they will make our lives easier and provide migration scripts when that happens. Cheers

Quick update:
Switching two modules around seems to have solved the IE6 problem. There is no good reason why this should be, but as I mentioned it is not a reliable browser.

We will start new sweepstakes the next month and the new school year will bring more traffic, so it is good you were able to do it now. Guys, For now, Marek is the only guy who can change anything I still do not know how to do any editing so... this is just his website Hope he would teach me how I can do any changes I love the newsfeed!

Thank you both Jaga and Marek For your work and dedication to the ideal of success. It would so seem, in the instance of two professionals working together. The product of their labours is to the lay person, an impossible task. But to these two people, it was to create the product of their mind, into a product of reality for the better good of all. Thank You!
