Our present culture is vehicle to our past, hence its importance. Archeological discoveries tell us much about who we were as people. Human spirit is reflected in culture and we are always enriched by knowing more about the origins of our spirit. But we must not see culture as "the best what we can be." Culture says something about the goodness of our past, ... but also about its badness. In other words, culture is a building block, at best, a teacher about what we must discard, and what we must retain. But we should never lose from sight the fact, that our real goodness is always in the future! Archeology only helps us to be what we can be.

Nathanael What a blessing you should bring this into focus, for how so true of your words! For of my own studies of Antropology and Geology of some time past touched upon by neccisity into the relms of Archeology. For whilst the study of one city will enevity, dig through the previous rubble of one ancient society into the previous society that were the former inhabitants of that land. Although my knowledge leading into my work, was in and of the land known as the Middle East or the land between two rivers as {Mesopotamia}{Fertile Crecent} then by assignment, be stationed to Syria. I think perhaps of study and gained knowledge of the acient people, we {I}gain as also, a very high respect and confidence in man {as a people} with their inate manner of over come that of what ever to survive. In words, the ability to over-come and make into success what ever the land presents. Karl
