PA police rescue Israeli woman from abusive Palestinian boyfriend
By Chaim Levinson, Haaretz Correspondent
An Israeli Jewish woman was rescued Friday afternoon by Palestinian Authority security forces after her boyfriend trapped her in his house in the West Bank city of Hebron.
The woman phoned Israeli police on Friday and told them that her Palestinian boyfriend, with whom she was having a dispute, convinced her to come to Hebron on Thursday to look for a house with him. She told police that he hit her and trapped her in his house after her arrival in the city.
Although police officers and Israel Defense Forces troops made preparations to enter the city, PA security forces stepped in and rescued the woman and handed her over to IDF troops, who took her in for questioning at an army base at Har Manoach, near Hebron.
The woman was already known to the IDF for regularly entering Hebron in defiance of an IDF rule restricting Israelis from entering Area A in the West Bank, which is under Palestinian Authority control.
Following questioning at the IDF base, the woman was taken to a police station in the area, where she submitted a complaint about her boyfriend's alleged violence. A police official in Hebron said that police are occasionally called on to rescue Israeli Arab women from partners in Palestinian Authority territory, but added: "A Jewish woman - that is uncommon."

Israel wanted to use this occassion to kill more Palestinians. Good that Palestinian police reacted quickly and prevented more Israel aggression. here is more about Israel policy in Palestine region: The quest for a greater Israel www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/aug/25/quest-for-greater-israelSettler ideology has made the sanctity of the land a central tenet and effectively turned the Palestinians into aliens on their own soil....
