Carl
Dear friend, for why do you muddie up the stream with this? That conflict was a revolt fight against the French colonial control forces. Those people were communist.
Are you communist? If not, that is ok, if so, that is ok also.

Charles, most FLN members in Algeria were Islamic nationalists, not Communists. Their leaders visited Communist countries & saw that Communism doesn't work. Algeria has remained part of the French community. Most Algerian Arabs wanted some independence for Algeria and respect from European French. They got it, and today the main culture & language in Algeria is French. IMO USA should use a similar method to win the hearts & minds of people in the Arab Mideast & Iran vs. the fanatic clerics & terrorists Carl.

Carl Yes, of course you are correct, my intent was to light up the candle from both ends to bring out what your actual thoughts are. There was a very strong attempt by Marxist folks, to bring into the fold, the leadership of the Algerian revolt. Primarily because of their failure to understand the Islamic hold that these people have. The leadership (Algerian) were very intelligent folks, well trained at their craft of leadership and government. This was the point of consternation of the French leadership at that time. How to take the enitive from the revolt leadership, and place this into the favour of French control, and at same time, entice the Algerian people into the French manner of thinking. The following url is one of the many examples of Marxist typen propaganda information of the period of time and place. www.marxists.org/history/algeria/1961/oct-22-1961.htmThis was one of the first in the then attempt at Marxist world domination in various parts of the civilized world in South America and then in Africa. Angola with the installation of Cuban forces to aid in the civil war at that time. What had not been for seen, as should have been, was that South Africa was the protectorate of Namibia and the German Embassy was still in Windhoek. So with South African control out of Pretoria and South Western control negotiated by common consensus through Windhoek. Military forces of the SADF had access to all of Namibia for a staging area for complete interdiction into Angola. It is all simple and how it works. It is just the Russians were never able to figure it out. Russians are easy to figure out then and now. For one thing, the Russians never want to believe that have been or are wrong. A very fatal mistake in thinking. If they (Russians) were ever to figure this out, to learn from their mistakes and make compensations to evolve to a higher plain of thinking, then we/the west, would be in deep trouble. Almost for got this additional of the prolific writings of Marxisium by Mitch Abidor www.marxists.org.uk/history/france/may-1968/comrade-dead.htmThe man knew his stuff. Just worked for the wrong side. Charles

Charles, well said! Thanks. Keep in mind that this was a failed Russian attempt for colonial expansion disguised as Marxism in Africa. It failed in Ethiopia too. Russia offered no significant benefits to Africa. When 3rd world leaders visited Soviet Union, they found it was more oppressive than Western colonialists. Carl
