Hello all -
I found this board after looking for the place in Poland my great-grandfatehr came from.
He arrived in Ellis Island in 1914. On the ship's manifest, it says he was from Maito, Pyanswysz, Russia (which was later Poland.)
I cannot find any info anywhere on Pyanswysz, and it's very possibly misspelt.
I found a Miaty, Poland, which might be the right spelling of Maito, but I'm not really sure.
Any help much appreciated!

I have checked and Miaty are in this part of Poland which was never occupied by Russia. As to Pyanswysz - it is very posotievelyt misspelled. Maybe it was Pszasnysz in original... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Przasnysz
