Hello I am new to this forum. I have read some of the posts and find the conversations to be interesting and would like to learn more. I will be going to Poland in the fall and am very excited!! I have never been and I am not Polish. But I love meeting new people and learning about their culture. I am a shy person so it can be difficult for me to start talking but if people make me feel welcomed than I really do enjoy talking. I am a young lady in my early 30's. I thought that I would try to see as much of the world as I can now because you never know what tomorrow brings. Plus I think it will help me appreciate others and my own surroundings more. Cheers Miss Lady

Hi Misslady,
welcome! Which cities or Polish regions you plan to visit? Are you going by yourself or as a part of a team/trip?

Hi Jaga
Thank you for your warm welcome.
I will be going with a tour. We are going to visit places like Warsaw, NIEPOKALANOW – CZESTOCHOWA, KRAKOW, WADOWICH, and OSWIECIM-ZAKOPANE. So I am very excited and a little nervous to be honest.
I hate to generalize things but can you tell me what I might expect from the people. The Polish people I have known have been friendly.
I am with the tour during the day but I have the evening to myself so I could go and explore. Do you have any recommendations?
Thank you kindly Misslady:)

Misslady, your trip looks more like a pilgrimage. I hope that everything will go well. Have some bottled water with you, some napkin or toilet paper just in case. Be careful, do not have an open purse. In the past Czestochowa was known as a favorite place for pocket thieves. Czestochova is very Polish, traditionally Polish pilgrimage place. In big cities Poles know English much better than in the countryside. Young people know English better than the elderly, so if you have to ask for directions, ask youth.
Polish towns have lots of places available in walking distance or by public transportation system. I hope you would enjoy Krakow - go to the center, see market place and the old churches. They are always open during the day and offer nice shade. Zakopane, when I saw it the last time, was very crowded. I hope you'd have a chance to go to the mountains away from people.
Poland has wonderful cities, I hope

Thanks so much Jaga for you help, I really appreciate it. I am getting really excited, I just hope that I am not overly shy over there and get to meet with some people. I really like to meet new people learn their way of life. But I get nervous and wait for people to start talking to me before I can open up. Once again thanks so much, I hope we can chat more. Misslady
