Very interesting works. I see she is a very talented lady. I was particularly intrigued in the Moscow works...the forest of "Tree People". The rest I was not able to understand language so it was only my visual here.
I agree with you, she is multi talented actually, because she makes art and writes,
and is multi-lingual. I admire her of her speaking Czech, because she spend one
year of her life in in Czechoslovakia as a 16 year exchange student!

Art as alienating mirror of societyBiography:
I come from Germany, when I was 16 I went one year to Czechia as an exchange student and I live for 10 years in the Netherlands in the border region with Germany, in Nijmegen. These movements in country- and language area's, thus also in thought area's, have influenced me and my art enormously. I live a life of daily bordercrossings.
About the work:
In word and image I registrate situations of a personage in an environment. I draw and phtotograph hybrid characters. These I direct theseobservations again in my sculptures. My texsts and images alienate situations, dislocate and confuse. I use lightprojections, in which bodies and schadowfigures alienate existing spaces. With that as fundament I built heterogenous, multimedial installations. I use narrativ elements and combine as such a language with image. These scenes I portray with photography, and that is often my final work.
Central in that is the de polarity of alienation and recognition .What is strange where? Who is strange where ? In the poetic imagined scenes I play with ethical and political questions.
To support the imageproduction I do theoretical research about the concept of the
Other, and about the
Cultureshock, about
Intercultural Communication,
Pluralism and the clash of cultures in Europe.
