A very sensible presentation of reality and action taken. Not to degrade the American political scene in Washington. But, some times the bilges must be pumped out, washed and it appears Mr. Trump is doing this.

the Trump Administration is going to deal with Pizzagate as it unfolds
hurrah!
Is this the definition of Fake News?? This, the cause of lack of faith in US Government, to the point where a National Conspiracy of all voting districts produced 5,000,000 fake votes?? Not a single Fake Vote in favor of fuhrer Trump?
I think this indicated the untergang of the Republic is at hand. It is bullshit. And it is believed.

Finland & Sweden mull joining UK-led Joint Expeditionary ForcePublished time: 6 Feb, 2017 07:41 Swedish armed forces soldiers © Fabrizio Bensch / Reuters Finland and Sweden are contemplating joining an elite UK-led military group capable of mobilizing tens of thousands of soldiers to respond to a variety of threats anywhere in the world. Both Nordic non-NATO states received invitations over the weekend. The 10,000-strong British-led Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF), which began formation in December of 2012, is designed to operate alone or jointly in support of NATO, European Union, or United Nations missions anywhere in the world. The force will incorporate air and naval units, as well as ground troops, and will be led by British commanders, with other participating nations contributing a range of specialist troops and units. A letter of intent signed with partners from Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, and Norway aims to develop JEF to become fully operational before 2018, but the force can already be used if needed. Sweden’s and Finland’s military cooperation with NATO is based on their longstanding policies of non-alignment. However, both countries have contributed to NATO’s multinational peace operations in non-combat capacities. Now, both Nordic countries are considering if joining JEF will bring mutual benefits. Britain leads 7-state Joint Expeditionary Force, mobilizing 10,000 troops“Joining this force has to do with NATO, because the idea originated within NATO and the force acts within NATO’s scope as exercised by the states in question. They can decide for themselves whether to invite non-NATO countries in,” Janne Kuusela from the Finnish Defence Ministry was quoted as saying by the local press. “The cooperation offer is based on Finland and Sweden being in a so-called enhanced partnership with NATO and we have a good history with joint operations with the UK,” Kuusela stressed. Sweden’s Armed Forces are also set to enter discussions on potentially joining the force. “We have also held discussions with Finland and will undertake a joint analysis of potential participation in JEF. We will coordinate our position on this,” Swedish Defense Minister Peter Hultqvist told Dagens Nyheter newspaper. Sweden, which has maintained a foreign policy based on non-alignment and refused to join NATO for years, thinks membership in JEF will be possible. “JEF is not a NATO force, but a British initiative and a British-led operation. This means that we can participate without any obligation to take part in operations,” the Swedish defense minister said. Finland, which has also remained independent of NATO, says it may need to upgrade its military hardware to fully integrate with JEF. “Joining this force would have to somehow benefit Finland’s defense capabilities,” Kuusela said, adding “we think that Finland’s military performance needs to be updated in the current global security environment, so the offer is quite interesting. But this will be carefully hashed out and only brought into the political sphere if we consider JEF worth joining.”

Is Trump Purging The Enemies Within? Obama Loyalists Being Escorted Out Of The White House
February 5, 2017 By Susan Duclos 777
Due to what appears to have been an honest mix up, reports came out this week that Secret Service manager level staff was “forced to resign” this week, but after clarification it was determined that it wasn’t Secret Service that was forced to resign and was escorted from the White House, but was in reality members of security/cyber security/information security, including the Chief of Information Security at White House.
It began when Steve Clemons, Political and Foreign Policy Commentator, Washington Editor at Large, associated with The Atlantic and National Journal and a Contributor at MSNBC, sent the following tweet out on February 2, 2017, stating “Reports coming in that some Secret Service mgr level personnel forced 2 resign 2nite & escorted out of EEOB. Two out but source says more.” That was immediately followed up by another report from Clemons, stating “Repeat. Two (& perhaps more) @secretservice Mgr level staff abtuptly forced to resign tonight & escorted out of EEOB #trump #whitehouse”
Clemons_Tweet2.jpg
The EEOB refers to the Eisenhower Executive Office Building which houses a majority of offices for White House staff.
The next morning Clemons followed up with a series of tweets admitting to his error in reporting it was Secret Service that was forced to resign and escorted off the premises, but was in reality, members of the “White House Security,” who “share space” with the Secret Service.
Clemons_Tweet1.jpg
Between his original tweet and his clarifications, others reported on his initial assertion that it was Secret Service that was removed, to the point where the Secret Service agency spokeswoman was forced to issue a denial stating, “The report regarding the Secret Service personnel is absolutely false.”
A purge of Secret Service would have been a big story, especially after reports regarding one agent who had publicly stated she would not “take a bullet” for President Trump, resulting in her suspension with pay, pending an investigation, but the real story here is that it was the White House Security Chief, who was an Obama political appointee, announced in September 2016, via the White House website, also referred to as the “first ever cyber chief.”
Fortune Magazine reported in September 2016:
Touhill will lead a team within the White House’s Office of Management and Budget “that conducts periodic cyberstat reviews with federal agencies to insure that implementation plans are effective and achieve the desired outcomes,” said Scott, the U.S. info chief, and Michael Daniel, U.S. cybersecurity coordinator, in a jointly authored blog post announcing the news. Touhill will be responsible for “helping to ensure the right set of policies, strategies, and practices are adopted across agencies,” they said.
Emphasis mine.
The timing of this seems quite coincidental, on the heels of the immigration pause roll-out, preventing immigrants from countries considered security threats due to high levels of terrorist activity, which has led to lawsuits against the Executive Order, with one judge halting the pause, and the Trump administration vowing to fight it, has largely been criticized due Visa and Green Card holders being denied entry into the U.S. or detained upon arrival, when those holders were not supposed to be part of the “pause.”
Was it a botched roll-out as has been suggested by critics, or was there a deliberate intra-agency communications issue, which led to the chaos that ensued shortly after the EO was signed and implementation started?
Not knowing the exact specific responsibilities that fall under the First Federal Chief Information Security Officer and his department within the White House, I cannot answer that, but the timing of these purges are suspicious, on top of the previous firing of the acting Attorney General Sally Yates, another hold over from the Obama administration, “after she issued a kamikaze attack on her new boss, refusing to defend his executive order in the courts,” along with purging Obama’s Border Control Chief, who had previously been accused by members of the union that represents U.S. Border Patrol agents, the National Border Patrol Council, of being a “disgrace,” and tying their hands in regards to doing their jobs as well as advocating lax immigration enforcement.
Perhaps the most interesting part of this apparent purge of Obama loyalists and appointees, in positions to betray and work against the new administration, is how the mainstream media is avoiding the fact that the White House Security Chief, along with an unspecified number of members of the security/cyber security/information security, were not only “forced” to resign but were actually escorted out of the EEOB.
If the past year and a half has told us anything, it is that when the MSM doesn’t want something known, it is usually something “we the people” should know more about, so their avoidance of any major headlines regarding this, is quite worrisome.
BOTTOM LINE
All administrations deliberately “leak” certain details, for a variety of reasons. Sometimes they allow a “leak” in order to basically offer an unofficial warning to the public about what is coming. Other times they float possible actions anonymously in order to gauge public reaction. The most damaging “leaks” are those that reveal private conversations and plans, with the sole goal by the “leaker” to cause trouble for an agenda or proposal they disagree with politically.
Related: White House investigates leaks of Trump calls to Australia, Mexico
With a consistent stream of media headlines claiming their are an unprecedented amount of the latter types of leaks coming from the White House, with mainstream media gleefully claiming their is “distrust” and “confusion,” implying the Trump administration is paranoid about traitors in their midst, we find that these “purges” that we see increasing, especially with the MSM studiously avoiding reporting on some of them, and slanting reports about others, it appears the Trump administration is being forced to “clean house” now of Obama loyalists, rather than slowly replacing people at a more leisurely pace.
White House spokesmen Sean Spicer was right, these bureaucrats need to either “get with the program” or get out, before they find themselves fired and escorted out the door.
While we provided a few of the screen shots from the Clemons Twitter feed above, in the video below I went ahead and went through all of them pertaining to the most recent purge in the White House of Obama loyalists, showing the series of tweets explaining, encouraging others to follow up and then clarifying exactly who was basically booted out the door, while the media silence on these “forced” resignations (read: firings) is deafening.
President Trump needs to purge all the “enemies” within if he expects to enforce his agenda and keep his campaign promises without being stabbed in the back at every turn.

In regards to The UK led Joint Expeditionary forces {JEF}, is a bit of smoke and mirrors. For a couple of years the question of funding their military more or less hit the fan with the stinky stuff. In short, the Brits are broke. www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/jun/24/uk-defence-spending-an-impossible-messThis JEF idea though would and will solve some of their funding issues with using the military forces of other states to fill in with their own, in as well as being their commanders will be in charge. What this is in reality, is loaning out our military {Denmark is my country also} to be used by the Brits at their discretion.. Well and good for them, that is until the casualty list begin to come in as well as the cost sheet to each contributor. With this, is the complication of Denmark being a NATO member as well. It would be best if the Brits will do their own knitting and let us figure out our own business. Karl

What are some little-known facts from World War II that fascinate you?
?
Alessio Mazzoni, WWII history amateur
I would say the story of Amedeo Guillet ( aka Devil Commander). Born in 1909, Following his family tradition of military service, he enrolled in the Academy of Infantry and Cavalry of Modena at the age of 18, thus beginning his career in the Royal Italian army. Dying at the age of 101, he was one of the last men to have commanded cavalry in war. In the buildup to World War II, Aosta gave Guillet command of the 2,500 strong Gruppo Bande Amhara, made up of recruits from throughout Italian East Africa, with six European officers and Eritrean NCOs. The core was cavalry, but the force also included camel corps and mainly Yemeni infantry. For Guillet to be given command of such a force while still only a lieutenant was a singular honour.
In 1940, he was tasked to form a "Gruppo Bande a Cavallo". The "Bande a Cavallo" were native units commanded by Italian officers. Amedeo Guillet succeeded in recruiting thousands of Eritreans. His "Band", already named in the history books as "Gruppo Bande Guillet" or "Gruppo Bande a Cavallo", was distinguished for its absolute "fair play" with the local populations. Amedeo Guillet could boast at never being betrayed, and 5,000 Eritreans knew perfectly well who he was and where he lived. It was during this time in the horn of Africa that the legend of a group of Eritreans with excellent fighting qualities, commanded by a notorious "Devil Commander", was born.
Guillet's most important battle happened towards the end of January 1941 at Cherù when he decided to attack enemy armoured units. At the end of 1940, the allied forces faced Guillet on the road to Amba Alagi, and specifically, in the proximity of Cherù. He was entrusted by Amedeo Duca d'Aosta with the task of delaying the allied advance from the North-West. The battles and skirmishes in which this young lieutenant was a protagonist (Amedeo did not have the appropriates rank, but he commanded an entire brigade) are boldly written in the British bulletins of war. The "devilries" that he created from day to day, almost seen as a game, explains why the British called him not only "Knight from other times" but also the Italian "Lawrence of Arabia". Horse charges with unsheathed sword, guns, incendiary and hand bombs against the armoured troops had a daily cadence. A look at official documents show that in January 1941 at Cherù "... with the task of protecting the withdrawal of the battalions... with skillful maneuver and intuition of a commander... In an entire day of furious combats on foot and horseback, he charged many times while leading his units, assaulting the preponderant adversary (in number and means) soldiers of an enemy regiment, setting tanks on fire, reaching the flank of the enemy's artilleries... although huge losses of men,... Capt. Guillet,... in a particularly difficult moment of this hard fight, guided with disregard of danger, an attack against enemy tanks with hand bombs and benzine bottles setting two on fire while a third managed to escape while in flames." In those months many proud Italians died, including many brave Eritreans who fought without fear for a king and a people who they never saw or knew.
Guillet's Eritrean troops paid a high price in terms of human losses, approximately 800 died in little more than two years and, in March 1941, his forces found themselves stranded outside the Italian lines. Guillet, faithful until death to the oath to the House of Savoy, began a private war against the British. Hiding his uniform near an Italian farm, he set the region on fire at night for almost eight months. He was one of the most famous Italian "guerrilla officers" in Eritrea and northern Ethiopia during the Italian guerrilla war against the Allies occupation of the Italian East Africa.[2]
After numerous adventures, including working as a water seller, Guillet was finally able to reach Yemen, where for about one year he trained soldiers and cavalrymen for the Imam's army, whose son Ahmed became a close friend. Despite the opposition of the Yemenite royal house, he succeeded in embarking incognito on a Red Crossship repatriating sick and injured Italians and finally returned to Italy a few days before the armistice.
Back in Italy, he was promoted “Maggiore” (Major). The Italian Army did not allow him to go back in Eastern Africa to persist in his guerrilla effort. Shortly after, on September 8 1943, Italy signed the armistice with the Allied. The Commander Devil crossed the enemy lines and was able to reach Brindisi (in the Southern part of the Italian Peninsula), where the Italian Army had moved its headquarter after the king escaped from Rome. The Commander Devil, thanks to his deep knowledge of foreign languages as well as the experience he gained on the ground, acted as a Military Secret Service Officer.
At the end of WWII, he started his diplomatic careers that led him to Egypt, Yemen and Morocco (as Italian ambassador). He was in Morocco during a (successful) assassination attempt of the King: he was able to save several lifes during the political coup that followed (thus he was not involved in it). In 2001, Gulliet visited Eritrea where is was acclaimed by thousands of supporters. The group included men who previously served under his command as horsemen in the Italian Cavalry known as “Gruppo Bande a Cavallo”.
His legend became even more inspiring because of a particular episode happened during his visit in Eritrea:
Amedeo paid a visit to a cameleer who welcomed him as a guest in his house more than 57 years before. In that time, the Commander was running from British troops chasing him in Eritrea desert. The cameleer did not recognize Guillet. The old man instead, narrated him the story about a man that he welcomed to his house many years before: the old man took care of the stranger wounds. Once the stranger was feeling better, he left with the promise to come back one day and rebuilt the old man watering hole. The old man was firmly convinced the stranger was sent by Allah himself to test him.
Amedeo Guillet at this point, instead of revealing his own identity to the old man, paid some local construction workers to rebuilt the watering hole overnight. Guillet left the place quietly a few hours before without a word.
A devil in time of war, an honorable man during all his life: Amedeo Guillet.

‘Phantom Ghost Fortress’ B-17 That Landed at an Airfield – NO Crew Were on Board!!
B-17 Flying FortressA B-17 Flying Fortress landed perfectly at an RAF airbase and completes the full landing pattern as well. The bomber comes to a full stop; the crew at the airbase waits……. but nobody is seen exiting the plane. As emergency crews climb aboard and look around; to their shock and surprise, they find no one inside. The only thing that is found is copies of radio communications and the written pilot’s log. In the log, the pilot wrote that the bomber was severely damaged and the crew was badly injured. But the Flying Fortress was not damaged at all and as impossible as it may seem, the RAF crew saw the plane flying and saw it land. They could never have imagined that the bomber was doing this unmanned! The airbase crew was startled to see a B-17 approaching their position with the wheels down. The B-17 landed just as they called their superiors. During the landing one wing tip dug into the ground, causing the plane to come to a bouncing stop about 90 feet from one of the gunnery positions. One of the propellers crumpled and stopped, while the other three kept working. 20 minutes after the B-17 landed, John V. Crisp arrived at the site. The propellers continued whirling, but even after this amount of time, nobody had debarked from the plane. Crisp went into the plane and apprehensively looked around. There was absolutely no one in there. However, there were signs of recent occupation. After some trial and error manipulations, Crisp successfully managed to shut the remaining engines down. Crisp wrote, “I then went to the navigator’s station. The bomber’s log was lying open on the navigator’s desk and written in the log was these last words – ‘Bad Flak’”. ‘During our search of the fuselage we found parachutes neatly wrapped, about twelve of them, and ready to clip on. This only added to the mystery and made the whereabouts of the crew even more inexplicable. In the Perspex nose of the B-17, the Sperry bombsight remained totally intact, with its cover sitting neatly beside it. Also on the navigator’s desk was the daily code book. This code book provided the crew with identifying colors and letters of the day for communication purposes. In the fuselage, there were several flying jackets with their distinctive fur collars laying together with a few chocolate bars, partially eaten in some instances.’ The US 8th Air Force Service Command, headquartered in Belgium, sent a crew of service personnel to investigate. When they checked the bomber’s serial number, they find out that the B-17 belongs to the US 91st Bomber Group and astonishingly, the crew is already at their base in England. The B-17 Flying Fortress was on a mission to the Merseburg oil targets, including the Leuna oil refinery. The bomber developed trouble just before reaching the target area. The B-17 wasn’t able to stay at the same altitude as the other bombers in the group and in addition, the bomb racks were malfunctioning. The B-17 took a direct hit that put #3 engine out of commission and another hit to the center of the plane caused a tremendous flash of light. “We’ve taken a direct hit in the bomb bay,” said pilot Harold R. DeBolt, “and, for the life of me, I don’t know why the bombs didn’t blow up.” With bad weather coming and one propeller twisted, DeBolt headed for England. The B-17 obviously wasn’t going to make it back to Eastern England, the East Anglia landing zone, so he changed his mind. He set the coordinates for Brussels. The pilot ordered the crew to ditch all loose equipment and supplies to lighten the weight the plane was carrying. It was at this time that two engines stopped. DeBolt ordered the crew to bail out while he was putting the B-17 on automatic pilot; the last one to leave the plane. The B-17 bomber crew all landed safely and, believe it or not, so did their stricken B17. What the crew thought had happened after they jumped, was that, somehow, the engine trouble cleared up and the reliably designed, stable B-17 flew itself. The failing engines, however, couldn’t sustain altitude and the Flying Fortress came down as described by the British gun crew at the air base. To an uneducated eye the B-17 looked as though it was undamaged and what was thought to be the flight crew’s parachutes were probably additional chute packs. Throughout the war, there were several other accounts of B-17s that flew without a pilot, but the Phantom Flying Fortress was the only one that landed successfully, more or less intact – by itself! To anyone interested in reading and fully understanding the how and why of the 8th AF, the B17, in the ETO or PTO, tactics, etc. I highly recommend this book. “Flying Fortress” – Edward Jablonski

These are our supposed friends. How come they are not on the banned list? February 14, 2017 Clip No. 5955 Saudi Cleric Advocates Offensive Jihad and Death for Apostasy: Liberalism and Coexistence Null and VoidSaudi cleric Sheikh Ayman Al-Anqari cited various hadiths in support of his claims that "coexistence in the sense of freedom of religion... is null and void" and that there are two kinds of Jihad: offensive Jihad and defensive Jihad. The punishment for apostasy, he said, "is one of the greatest punishments in Islam." Al-Anqari's lesson aired on the Saudi Al-Ahwaz TV channel on February 16. Ayman Al-Anqari: "The problem with the issue of coexistence lies in its distortion to the point that it involves distortion of the Islamic rules. For example, they tell you that coexistence means freedom of religion. You are supposed to let people be heretics, deny the existence of Allah, curse Allah, curse His Prophet, and curse Islam. This is called liberalism and freedom of religion. Or take, for example, the abolition of the punishment for apostasy. They say that the punishment for apostasy should be abolished because it runs counter to coexistence. The punishment for apostasy is immutable, and it is one of the greatest punishments in Islam. According to the hadith narrated by Ibn Abbas in the Bukhari compilation, the Prophet Muhammad said: 'Whoever changes his religion – kill him.' Therefore, coexistence in the sense of freedom of religion, heresy, denying the existence of Allah, and the rejection of the punishment for apostasy in Islam as something that runs counter to the freedom to choose one's religion – all this is null and void. "Coexistence in this sense is null and void, rejected, and unacceptable. In addition, denial of the notion of offensive jihad is propagated by the defeatist, rationalist, modern school of thought. They tell you that there is only defensive jihad in Islam. No. The texts in the Quran and the Sunna mention two kinds of jihad: offensive jihad, when [Muslims] have the ability to wage it, and defensive jihad. Allah said: 'Fight the ones who do not believe in Allah nor in the Last Day.' Allah made fighting and jihad contingent upon the existence of heresy. According to the hadith narrated by Buraida in the Muslim compilation, the Prophet Muhammad said: 'Raid for the sake of Allah, fight those who reject Allah.' Allah made fighting contingent upon the existence of heresy. This means offensive fighting – of course only under certain conditions, like the ability to do so, for example."

The Only Surviving Horten Ho 229 – “Hitler’s Stealth fighter”
The Horten Ho 229 is generally known by a few unique names. The plane was called the H.IX, by the Horten Brothers. The identity Ho 229 had been given to the plane by the German Ministry of Aviation. Sometimes, it was also called the Gotha Go 229, because Gothaer Waggonfabrik was the name of the German maker who manufactured the plane. This plane has been recently called “Hitler’s Stealth fighter”, despite the fact that the plane’s stealth capacities may have been accidental. As per William Green, creator of “Warplanes of the Third Reich,” the Ho 229 was the principal “flying wing” air ship with a jet engine. It was the primary plane with elements in its design which can be alluded to as stealth innovation, to obstruct the ability of radar to identify the plane. The Horten Ho 229 being restored at Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center (Credits: Cynrik de Decker)The leader of the German Luftwaffe, Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring, awarded the German aircraft machine industry what is called “3 X 1000” objective. Goring needed a plane that could transport 1000kg of bombs (2,200 lb), with a scope of 1000 km (620 miles) and speed of 1000 km/h (620 mph). The Horten Brothers had been taking a shot at flying wing design lightweight gliders since the 1930’s. They thought that the low-drag of the gliders that were made previously could be the base for work that would meet Goring’s requests. The wings of the H.IX plane were produced using two carbon infused plywood boards, stuck to each other with sawdust and charcoal blend. In 1943, 500,000 Reich Marks had been awarded to the Horten Brothers by Goring to assemble and fly a few models of the all-wing and jet-propelled Horten H IX. The Hortens flew an unpowered glider in March of 1944. The flying machine did not resemble any current plane being used in the Second World War. It looked fundamentally the same as the cutting edge American B-2 Bomber. Goring was very much inspired with the plan and transferred it from the Hortens to the German aviation organization Gothaer Waggonfabrik. At Gothaer, the plan experienced a few noteworthy upgrades. The outcome was a jet powered model, the H.IX V2, which was first flown on 2nd February, 1945. Expelled from the venture, the Horten Brothers were working with the Horten H.XVIII, which was also known as the Amerika Bomber. The Horten H.XVIII was just an effort to satisfy the Germans wishes to manufacture an aircraft that could reach the United States. After a few more experimental flights, the Ho 229 was added to the German Jäger-Notprogramm, or Emergency Fighter Program, on 12th March, 1945. Work on the next model rendition of the plane, the H.IX V3, finished when the American 3rd Army’s VII Corps came to the Gotha plant in Friederichsroda on 14th April, 1945. In 2008, Northrop-Grumman, utilizing those designs plans which were available, fabricated a full-size generation of the H.IX V3 by using only those materials which were available in Germany in 1945. They studied the main surviving parts of a Ho 229 V3, which were accommodated at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum’s Paul E. Garber Restoration and Storage Facility on the outskirts of Washington DC in Suitland, Maryland. The Horten Ho 229 being restored at Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center (Credits: Cynrik de Decker)Engineers at Northrop needed to see whether the German aircraft could really be resistant to radar. Northrop tried the non-flying reproduction at its classified radar testing office in Tejon, California. During the testing, the frequencies utilized by British radar offices toward the end of the war were directed towards the reproduction. Tom Dobrenz, a Northrop Grumman stealth master, said with regards to the H.IX, “This design gave them just about a 20% reduction in radar range detection over a conventional fighter of the day.” When combined with the speed of the H.IX, after being picked up by British Homeland Defense radar, the Royal Air Force would have had only 8 minutes from the time of detecting the airplane before it approached England, rather than the standard 19 minutes. While the design turned out to be stealthy, it has been contended that it was not intended to be stealthy. There is no written proof in Germany that the design was expected to be what would later be recognized as stealth innovation. In an article composed by Reimar Horten, broadcast in the May 1950 version of the Argentine aviation magazine Revista Nacional de Aeronautica, Reimar composed, “…with the advent of radar, wood constructions, already considered antique, turned into something modern again. As the reflection of electric waves on metallic surfaces is good, such will be the image on the radar screen; on the contrary, on wood surfaces, that reflection is little, these resulting barely visible on the radar.” In the late 1970s and beginning of the 1980s, data started to break to the media that the United States was doing some important work on airplanes with stealth innovation. In 1983, Reimar Horten wrote in Nurflugel: Die Geschichte der Horten-Flugzeuge 1933-1960 (Herbert Weishaupt, 1983) that he had wanted to join a blend of sawdust, charcoal, and paste between the layers of wood that framed vast areas of the outside surface of the HIX wing to shield, he said, the “entire plane” from radar, in light of the fact that “the charcoal ought to ingest the electrical waves. Under this shield the tubular steel, [airframe] and the engines, [would be] “undetectable” [to radar]” By 1983, the fundamental elements of American stealth innovation were at the point of being public knowledge. After the war, the latest scientific improvements prompted the idea of planning an airframe that could sidestep radar. It was found that a jet-powered, flying wing design, just like the Horten Ho 229 will have a little radar cross-area to traditional contemporary twin-motor aircraft. This is because the wings were merged into the fuselage and there were no extensive propeller disks or vertical and horizontal tail surfaces to give a locatable radar signature. Reimar Horten said he blended charcoal dust with the wood paste to soak up electromagnetic waves (radar), which he accepted could shield the aircraft from identification by British early warning ground-based radar that worked at 20 to 30 MHz (the top end of the HF band), which is called Chain Home radar. Engineers of the Northrop-Grumman Corporation had a great interest on the Ho 229, and a few of them went to the Smithsonian Museum’s office in Silver Hill, Maryland in the 1980s to learn about and study the V3 airframe. A group of engineers from Northrop-Grumman did some electromagnetic experimentation the V3’s multilayer wooden middle-area nose cones. The cones are 3/4 of an inch (19 mm) thick and made up of thin sheets of veneer. The group inferred that there was surely some type of conducting element within the paste, as the radar signal lessened extensively as it passed through the cone. So it turns out Hitler was far along with developing a plane that was far ahead of its time!

These machines although very impressive to the eye, were/are unproven as viable weapons of war. How they would have performed in air war fare was/is yet to be proven. But, these things held great promise for their time for future development.

This 10,000 room hotel has never had a single guest. There’s a very good reason
The National Socialist German Workers’ Party, or simply the Nazi party, are known for many things, mainly for their desire to shape the world as per their ideals. Among others, one of the things that were also specific to the Nazis was their ambitions to create big grandiose buildings, only for the purpose of showing the power and success of the Third Reich. So whether it was a war factory, monument, school, camp or a propaganda site, it had to be grand. Knowing this, it should come as no surprise that the biggest hotel in the world, the Prora, was also built by the Nazi regime. The Prora construction started some 70 years ago, on the German island of Rugen, in the Baltic Sea. Hitler wanted a monstrous beach resort, one like the world had never seen before. Besides being a hotel, the Führer also wanted the resort to be able to transform into a military hospital in case of war. He also insisted the resort have a cinema, a theater, a dock for the guest’s ships and a concert hall that could accommodate 20,000 people. There was also a noble cause behind the construction of Prora: it was planned to provide affordable holidays for the average worker. Prora’s design, made by the architect Clemens Klotz under the supervision of the Nazi chief architect Albert Speer, had won the Grand Prix award at the 1937 Paris World Exposition. Prora (2011)
“Koloss von Prora” or the Colossus of Prora
Typical room, condition December 2010The construction started in 1936 and was stopped 3 years later, due to the beginning of the war. The site employed almost 9000 workers, and all of the biggest Reich building companies were included in the project. The hotel has 10,000 rooms which can accommodate 20,000 guests. Divided into 8 housing blocks and stretching for 4.5 kilometers, the hotel was built around 150 meters away from the sandy beach. All the rooms were the same size, with 2 beds and a view towards the sea. The corridors were built on the land side, and there were communal toilets and showers on each floor. In 1939, the war began, so all the workers were transferred to work in Hitler’s war factories. So, unfinished, the world’s biggest hotel, has never received a single guest. In 1945, the Russian army took control over the island and established a military base. They remained there for one year, occupying 5 blocks of the resort. During their stay, the Soviets stripped all usable materials from the buildings. In 1950, the East German military rebuilt some of the demolished buildings. After this, the resort served as many things, except as a hotel. It was a military technical school, a youth hostel, a camp for asylum seekers from the Balkans, and finally a museum and a disco. Four of the housing blocks are being redeveloped, one is used as a youth hotel, and the remaining three are still in ruins. Time will tell if the Colossus, as it called by the local population, will ever reach its full potential and serve as a hotel for 20,000 guests.
