Does anyone have any opinions on the Dixie Chicks controversy or their music for that matter?I know they had some rough times lately and some or many country and western radio stations have refused to play any of their music.

Benedict Arnold comes to mind. Won't buy their music. Unpatriotic and abusive to the USA in another country. And they laugh all the way to the bank.

Like good Americans, teh Dixi Chicks spoke out BEFORE the war (11 days before the invasion. I read). Sounds like good judgement on their part, something that maybe even GW and 26,000 American families might aree upon now. I would hate to lose a leg or my sight for a sightless politician!
So I wish them the best at rebuilding their careers.

PS. Jim, Benedict Arnold was a good British capitalist. He followed the money with his loyalty. Today as a corporate CEO he would be given a $500 million bonus!

Your are probably right but I would never have him cover my six. Goes for the chicks as well.

Too bad the Chicks weren't around during Vietnam, they could have given us some better insight in that war too.

Arnold was the greatest American General of the war on the American side. The leadership of Washington cannot be diminished, and truly the cause would have died with a lesser man. But Arnold was the real deal militarily. He saved the cause on at least three occasions and was about 4 or 5 hours away from making Canada the 14th colony. Arnold's dilemma was an age old problem: he got hung up on a woman!! With the right pillow talk and whispers, he became disillusioned and ended up betraying his cause just before it's victory. He's not the first to sell his soul for a woman, and won't be the last! I don't think the uproar over the Dixie chicks was so much their opine, but where and to whom they opined it. Like anyone else in the public eye, you'd better think before popping off your mouth, if that's how you're going to make your living. If it works out for them, well good for them.

Does anyone have any opinions on the Dixie Chicks controversy or their music for that matter?I know they had some rough times lately and some or many country and western radio stations have refused to play any of their music. www.cnn.comNASHVILLE, Tennessee (AP) -- Despite a cool reception from country radio, the Dixie Chicks returned to No. 1 on the pop and country charts with their first album since publicly criticizing the president three years ago. ... and on to opinion, they showed better judgment than our draft-dodging prez did in calling it. So for armature opinions, the prez is the poorer armature! Kai PS. On memorial day I was watching a program on a few days in October 1967 when I was in advanced training in the Army. We had 20,000 dead at that point. The Air Cav was ambushed with major losses in those few days. The brass white washed it & refused to use the word ambush, which carries the stigma of incompetence. At the conclusion of the program the commentator did state that the administration eralized we could not win the war at that point. So 7 years and 38,000 additional lives later we did withdraw ... If we had to divert our resouces from the war on terror to Iraq, I wish Bush had left the Iraqi war to the miltary and had concentrated on planning the peace. But then he didn't stick with it when he swore he would in the protected reserves either.
