Chris {RDY} You must give us some situation/report of events of the concert. I am very curios as how it was, and that all is well Also was I thinking. I certainly do hope that I have not given the wrong idea of my wife Anna. For she is actually an exceptiionally very fine person. In the words of some of our neighbours, she {Anna} is a real sweet heart. And she is for a fact. Anna works now, part time as a kitchen assistant at a large nursing home {Anna actually is a trained dietary cook} and whilst cooking at home, it is as if the meals are simply perfect, perfectly laid out on the plate in the proper tremporature as if from a fine restaurant. { this a fine reason I have gained weight this year} She is considerate and worries I will not have enough to eat whilst in her absence, and as so, simply packs our refridgerator {Kühlschrank} or places a supper plate completed and wrapped. It is true though of my irriatation to her. I am restless and must have my hands fixing or adjusting some thing that is not perfect. this irritates her. But, I try to help her with items she is not skilled at, such as busness letter writing, report reading/analyst of information packets. Whilst at the store, to let her know that I care, I buy her candy bars of chocklet and little things of that nature, because I do care. I just want you not to think badly of her Charles

Charles, On the contrary. Its just the way you say it write it that makes me chuckle. I never thought for a moment there was anything but true love in the Besheid nest. Okay, Concert...where to begin. So how bout we start at the very beginning. I start to get ready for the concert and must be at Mary's by 5:00 as the concert starts at 7 and I have an hours drive. By the time I am dressed and ready to leave I have a full blown panic attack. I get to Mary's house at 430 and she is getting dressed and as most people do for concerts they get in the mood. She has Petty on the stereo blasting, has to have a brew and then smoke some pot. Now I am really wondering even more what I have got myself into as Mary and I have only known each other from the beach and occasionally meeting at Schooners (a restaurant by the beach for Happy Hour and to hear a local band) I on the other hand have not done weed since my 70's and my choice of drink might be an occasional wine or a mixed drink if out with dinner. So am I going to have trouble or what. We hit the road and Mary takes me as planned all the back roads so we miss most traffic and since she use to work at Darien knows the ins and outs. Including parking. We parked closest to the back exit so we could be the first to leave. We got there at 6p and the parking lot was filling super fast. Mostly everyone parked were having tailgate parties. All around was beer and pot and pot and beer. Even in the concert. Gregg Allman opened first and played something on the keyboards and then sang and also played some mean guitar. We at this point were standing at the side of the stage and soon had a crowd forming behind us. (oh I forgot to bring my binoculars and my camera.....sorry My foot was really starting to bother me (I have a heel spur) So I told Mary I was sitting for TP. Our seats were the 4th section back from stage...not as close as standing but still decent seats and with the big screens you get to see everything still. ABB DARIEN CENTER, NY 8/15/2006 Darien Lakes Performing Arts Center Darien Center, NY Special Guest for Tom Petty No One To Run With Southbound Trouble No More Woman Across The River Desdemona Statesboro Blues Hoochie Coochie Man Ain’t Wastin’ Time No More Melissa Jessica One Way Out Encore: Whipping Post 930 TP came on. He put on a great show sang many of his songs. I thought his show was exceptional compared to Allman Bros. Stevie Nicks canceled on us. At encore we planned to head out as to not get stuck in traffic. On the way home the drive was really cool as there was this huge huge moon in the sky and it looked like a orange slice. Dropped Mary off and 1/2 hour later I kissed the ground at my house. I am still amazed at that evening. 1) I have never done this type of concert in all my 59 years. 2) my phobias ruined alot of my enjoyment. 3) I will have a great memory of that evening and am just happy that all went well and we all came home safe. The weather was perfect evening. I can now say officially I was a party girl...LOL It was my first and will be my last of this sort. Am I living my live backward!!!! All in all TP has a new fan.

Rdy,
Having just read this whole thread .... glad you made it through the TP concert with minimal phobia damage ...
but really,what I noticed was ....
you talked with wujohn on skype!! how lucky are you! tell us how that happened!
PS. to paraphrase Soren Kierkegaard, life must be lived forwards, but can only be understood backwards. Must be even harder to be living it backwards ...

Chris Thank you for the neat update, and of your reassurance, that was nice and much appreciated. Even with from the interesting start {Mary and her pleasures} It sounds that all went very well for you both. It is too bad of Stevie Nicks canceling, but doubtless, she had an excellent reason that could not be helped. I do trust this did not cut the concert short though. I imagine well, that TM {Tom Petty} was his excellent self. He is so good. It has been some time since hearing some of his music, most likely he has many new songs out now. And what a show man,,,he can look so casual and with a bummed out look on his face, then come out with his guitar and a neat song. I had to cheat and run up on Yahoo, Greg Allman. There are some demo tracks of him and a photo with descriptions. www.epicrecords.com/greggallman/I admire you for your adventurous spirit! It sounds you had fun and enjoyment with your evening, that is what it is all about, this for sure And you both made it home safely. {Life is our great adventure, if we do not seek, then we will not find} Charles

Charles.....you can hear most of the TP Highway Companion album from the concert here www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FP2O2C/sr=1-1/qid=1155811903/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-1439838-5563966?ie=UTF8&s=musicWhen you get to that page just click on the listen to all and it will play as an album rather than clip by clip. If you would like I can send you a copy of my cd. Just PM your address. Nancy I have SKYPE due to a thread earlier and decided to download it after an invitation from my cousin in Poland. John helped me with mike suggestions and program. I recently have been recieving alerts saying I should upgrade. I asked John if he did and he called me on SKYPE. Only this time I noticed he had video. I spoke with him live. It was really cool as this was the first time I had the oppurtunity to see what it is like to talk and see someone live. He has Logictech Chat. You can purchase at Staples for 30.00. The SKYPE is free. If you don't have it ...get it (providing you can use it for PC to PC) I have asked my out of town friends to get it but so far no takers. (Many are still behind in the tech field and only do email ) Thank you WuJohn
