Anyone plan on seeing this movie. Looks like another good one to see. Hard to believe this is really based on a true story. Has anyone read any of his other books....Sellevision, Dry?

10/28 Yes...this is based on a true story The author is a relatively local (to us) young man...I get the feeling that he wrote the book for its therapeutic value. The families involved have made the front pages of our local newspaper from time to time over the last several decades. The local "art theater" held an advanced showing for the media recently and there were two excellent reviews about the movie in the local paper this week: "Running With Scissors": Two views of a film with local ties 'Running With Scissors,' the movie based on Amherst author Augusten Burroughs' best-selling memoir, opens in theaters Friday, and GazetteNET features reviews of the film from two Gazette staff members who've screened it. We'd welcome your views on the book or the film in TalkBack. --A story of survival --Film's title says it all If I can access the reviews I'll copy and paste them here later...right now the newspaper is saying my online subscription has expired...which it has not I will not go to see this movie... 11/04 Nancy and all, Sorry to have to make you all work so hard The newspaper decided this morning that, indeed I do have an on-line subscription! So, above are the two articles reviewing the movie from a fairly local perspective. Here is the Internet Movie Database link to Running with Scissors. www.imdb.com/title/tt0439289/ There are photos, trailers, and, of course, readers comments about this film at the link. One reader calls the film . Hopefully, he meant technique, staging, etc. and not subject matter. As I stated before, after having read this story unfolding on the pages of the daily newspaper over the years and know people who knew some of the principles, I will not see this movie. Even though my dial-up connection is behaving itself this morning, it is Saturday....there are places to go and things to do....
