My wife Grand Father was from a town name Zels according to the register in Venezuela, and other part of her family is from a town name krisstinopol that apparently now belong to Ukraine. We would like to know if this town Zels still exist or if it change its name and where it is located. Also how could we find some records of birth or descendants of this person who was born in Zels. We are planning to travel to poland at the end of this year my father in low wants to go to his father birth place.
thanks for your help

Unfortunately, I was able to find nothing about a town called "Zels."
Because those who pass down family history may be unfamiliar with other languages, it often happens that place names are written down based on how they sound in one person's own language, rather than how they're written down in the language of the people who live there.
Perhaps someone who is more familiar with the local geography of eastern Poland and western Ukraine would be able to help you.
If this place is actually located in Ukraine now, I just would like to remind you that entry requirements for Ukraine, which is not in the European Union, are different than for Poland, which is in the European Union.
