With out any qualifying guidelines to provide a direction of focus other then a simple opinion. Yes, I do have an opinion to offer. My opinion is this: Women are equal in rights and positions they earn in society. Within the scope of nature and selection, it is a womens prerogative rather she is with a man of her choice, or with out a man. For with or without a man, the women is still to be respected as a person. Karl

My three aunts, older sisters of my mother were single. They were pretty, educated and could support themselves. One of them was a widow, her husband died during the war in a labor camp. She promised him not to marry again. One was a dedicated teacher, if she married she could not teach, these were the rules in these times. She decided that school is more important for her. They were wonderful for us and all the family. Their mother and my grandma was always telling them: "dziouchy, musicie na siebie zarobic" - Girls, you need to be independent and be able to support yourself.

America had a similar rule in the early 20th century. I don't know when it stopped, but it was the same - a teacher had to give up her job as soon as she married. It had to do with a married woman having sex, and that would make her "impure." Such impure women could not be trusted to teach to children.

Yes, punctuation is everything: Woman, without her, man is nothing. Woman, without her man, is nothing. Then you like military things, so how about the military saying: A man can make Colonal. His wife makes General. Kai

How can one agree or disagree with this statement without first agreeing on the meaning of the term "nothing," in this particular context. Jaga's aounts were not "nothing." John, Kai,
I saw a different punctuation but first, I was not aware that you are joking.... well, at least you had a chance to see my family story.
