Mikey great dinner. From the sounds of it are you a professional chef...must be with that menu. Is your girlfriend Polish? If not what does she think of Polish foods/traditons. You will have to share some of those secrets (recipes)

Here's a picture of the end of our Christmas meal - the first part was devoured before I remembered to photograph it! Unfortunately nothing Polish here, just our German candle carousel that's been in our family since I was a kid, and some American holiday treats: cookies, a big slab of fudge brownies, and a spice-glazed gingerbread cake that turned out very well. After the holidays are over, I will try some Polish recipes, and post a picture of anything that comes out photo-worthy.

Suzanne and GardenMoma,
Nice pics from both of you - I think I see similar German carousels in both photos.
Mikey, Welcome to the forum. I notice that not only do your food and table look perfect (!) , but so does the counter behind you. When I boil water my whole kitchen looks like a disaster area. what is your secret? (and don't you dare say it's the girlfriend.)

PS. I also meant to compliment Piwo on his handsome Christmas table as well. But I do hope you have a way to rotate those photos, I am getting a crick in my neck from leaning sideways.

hey girls, this is your friend mike baruch author of the new polish cuisine!! by your pictures ive got some stiff competition in the kitchen!! send me that spice baked gingerbread cake recipe, and i will have to head up to piwos neck of the woods and have a few cold ones!! really nice people on this site.. im originally from chicago but started a food service company out in san diego.. i just returned from canada and finished my second cookbook about polish cooking.. im also releasing a book this summer about chicagos ethnic foods.. yes, i hate to brag, i have really nice counter space!! one side for pierogi the other for babka!! but let me warn you i have no real furiture in my house except the dinning room table that has mismatched chairs and a bed that sounds like the tale of the crypt!! i live a simple life.. if any of you girls should happen to own a small farm up north , you can rent me out for cheap and i will cook you 3 meals aday and milk one or two cows! i need to get back to an easier life away from the professional stove.. yes, thats one of my friends in the photo who needed some tlc around the holiday. my family is far away, so i whipped up something that is kinda old, kinda new you know something more of our generation thats really cool and interesting!! after the meal we were supposed to play whos got the kieshka, but she got paged at the hospital!!!mf##$$*** another holiday ruined!! allright the last part i lied about!! i will most definately send you girls some really cool polish recipes, and hey how about some other foodstuffs that you might like? peace mike baruch chefmb@earthlink.net

hey mikey, there are some real foodies here! but I will warn you - we aren't all girls - Piwo, Frank, and Jim can out-cook me any day. (well, actually, so can Garden Moma, Suzanne, and anyone else) PS. Anyone ever tell you that you resemble Pat Sajac (but younger and cuter of course)

Dear ones Don't forget that was a picture of my daughter's Wilia table...with the two "girls" cooking. But then I taught them everything they know and gave them cookbooks for backup. They were obviously enjoying themselves. Both are vegetarians, so Wilia is really a good meal for them.

I do have a way, but running north and south, it will take up a lot of the 1st page of the thread. I'll try it when I get home tonight and see how much it. Excellent! I have a birthday in January, so this is something I will get for me! (and I hope it has a pyzy recipe, as the one I tried bombed badly, but it was probably me, not the recipe) Frank and Jim perhaps, but certainly not me. But I have been practicing more since returning from Poland this summer.
