It is very nice to see this. It is important to show the abilities of people with disadvantages. I don't know if a person with Autism can be happy though, since the lack of social skills and the possibility of real human communication with affection. Because autistic people can be totally focussed and good at subjects, but not so good at communication and cooperation with others.
I have direct contact with a colleage who has Aspergers, and he is quite difficult to cooperate with. I like and respect him, but every now and then he is very agigated, explosive and angry, because he can't coap with some things. If things go different than his logic. He wants things to go according to his logic. He hates chaos, colleages who are sloppy or not serious, and if people do not stick to their promisses. I sit in an edit room with him every day, and can get along with him very well. I am not afraid or anoyed with him. I can handle him and sometimes coach him or put things into perspective. It would be boring without him around. I am fond of this colleage, and learned quite a few things from him, because he is more technical and specialistic than I am. Asperger people can get very good in one thing or in a few things which they are really interested in. For them a hobby or subject that interests them is the same as for us a relationship (girlfriend) or friendship. It is very difficult for them to keep friendships, because 'normal' people are difficult for them, because in their perspective most normal people are chaotic, strange and difficult, because they do things without a reason and change very quickly.
Cheers, Pieter
