Hello Dear Friends
I must first opologise for such absence as I have been, sorry. With all that is in my world, now of 13 May, a medical condition requiring a hospital stay for a heart blockage. Not as drastic as first appears, it is a matter of the upper chamber losing electrical contact with the lower chamber such as in house whole wire. Our body operates upon electrical systems of muscel contractions primarly of automatic impulse with much other being from our conscience mind rather from reactional impulse or desire..
How ever though, now I have an implanted device that serves as a pace maker. At present, time has presented healing and recovery time for the body,,and mind. With this, a more concentrated change of mind of timely visits to the doctor I have ignored for some past years. The syptomes were previously self evident in recent past, simply were ignored until to the last hours. This was to change quite quickly upon a visit to a physician for some more frequent states of sudden dizy spells. The lady doctor was very quick with my first ambulance ride ever to the cardio hospital, this then to the intensive care unit and it was all down hill from that point on. The condition worsened quickly to losing conscienceness several time is succession with awaking up to the most loud and nasty alarms I was hooked up to, with several doctors and attendents holding my legs down { My mind was confused upon waking, for I thought I was home and attempting to catch my self from falling}. Withen the hour, the cardio doctor installed from the groin, a temporary pace maker followed by upon the following morning, the implanted permenant pace maker just below the left collar bone. The following day I recieved my release from the hospital.
I think perhaps as an old pelican, my wings have been successfuly clipped rather I personally agreed to or not. At moment still is some bouts of poor eyesight and spells of dizzy from some medicine to lower the blood pressure from previous very high.
It would so appear, our world changes upon our selves,,this has not excaped the forum structure. What a culture shock to experience upon return,,,I must say. But not empossible once to following instructions. The secure login regestration explanation presentation was very good, and provided excellent instructions. In this manner, re-entry was not a problem.
It will be some reading and catching up to do upon my self for a bit for re-entry into the mainstream of ideas and vast amounts of information in relation to member contributions..If perhaps my self in apperence of slow, please contain some patience for this out of shape Pelican, my wings may be a bit storm tatered, but once to catch the wind, it will be a return to normal.
Thank you all Karl

Karl,
You old Pelican, Welcome Back! It is great to hear you came through everything and that you are on the road, hopefully, to a full recovery. Having a new timing mechanism for your ticker (heart in US slang) is just fine. It sure beats the alternative, no?
You were missed and I will leave room for others to express their joy at your return.
I am momentarily in Krakow, Poland, and will head into the Carpathian Mountains tomorrow. I figure I had best do what I can while I can, as you don't have too many years on me. I will be attending a Slovak Language school for three weeks, go off to a Bavarian wedding, and return to Slovakia to visit and poke around the mountains a bit, away from the most popular areas, more in lesser traveled areas. My finish will be passing through Switzerland back to Germany, and shortly after that the Sept 3 flight back to Alaska.
What future plans are you contemplating? Just recovery and back to work, or perhaps a bit of retirement thought? If so, what part of the world would you consider? I suspect you have traveled so much that most anywhere (warm?) is possible.
Best wishes for a full recovery!
Ron

Kai
Thank you for your very kind and warm welcom back, very timely and very much apppreciated..I see you have returned to Europe once again and back to school in Slovia,,good for you, our roots as with the oak tree, are very deep and very strong. I see you have the wonder feet that provides to you the direction of the trail, good for you I must say. Have also my self the need of the adventure that only the forest and mountains provide with the smells of the mountain air and only that of which nature alone has to offer.
Would not the Slovakian languge school be the same as that which you attended the last year? If so, it will be good for the instructors to see the return of one of their past students as a happy reuion and as a gage of progress that also will be to their credit in teaching.. I do admire you for your ability in language. My self, I find it very difficult with languages other then what I know. Simply as it will show, I am not very linguistic. In this manner, brings to my self, admiration for those as your self that are.
I gather or surmise, the wedding you are to attend in Bavaria is not your own,,or is it so? You do know of course, with your European back ground and many visits, there will be a certain amount of infusion rather of entent or not into your self. For those of your friends in Alaska will not recogonize you other then as a European, perhaps so? Or perhaps not? I think perhaps time will be our judge....
Kai, thank you once again for your very nice welcome...Now if I may find that darn spell check???

Please, still is my mind a bit rumpled. You have asked of my future plans. At present, my life is as my plans of future, simply moment by moment as the situation will present of self. If retirement were to face my self with a decision, as you have foretold, you bet, it would be some place that is warm that would be on the forefront of thought...But, this would be contengent upon my wife Anna in agreement.

Lieber Karl,
Welcome back, I am glad the surgery went well. Take your time to recover. I hope that there are people over there who will take care of you! Is Anna there with you? Literary a warm place comes into mind, but there are also places which make your heart, soul, mind and spirit filled with warmth, the place of your childhood, teenage years and adolescence. How about Northern-Germany or Denmark as place to retire?
Cheers, Pieter
P.S.- I know that you sometimes miss the mild sea climate of the North sea, the coast of Northern-Germany or Denmarks Sjealland.

Cheers, Pieter P.S.- I know that you sometimes miss the mild sea climate of the North sea, the coast of Northern-Germany or Denmarks Sjealland.Thank you Pieter It is always good to be with friends in both the good times and with this, times of stress. I was very sincer with my reply to Kai with the dream of retirement in the warmth of a tropical climate. You have brought forth a truth that we must all face with our origens, yes, I do miss the salt and North Germany, but also, intrinsic feelings of need to repay to Dänemark a debt for being the land of my yuith. At moment though, it is problymatic of retirement. I have been chased out of the building and then requirement of meeting with those doing my work. Being of old school, most of my work is in brain storage with written records as being back up only. These new people out of schools are highly skilled and very very smart, their expetise is above my head by leaps. We work well together, but on a diverse course of action. They depend upon electronic records as download from the work sheet,,,they feel safe in the work envirement that is their present work conditions, and I do respect them for their confidence. This is not my method of operations, for in my world, nothing is sacred or safe. Electronic records are always at risk of detection and access by what ever means. With this, is the risk of the unknown such as fire, theft of information, physical distruction of property by natural means and/or intent. The above is well and good, but,,my self and some of us of simular origens, have shot our selves in the foot with out methodolgy, for it becomes very difficult for another from a different school of thought to take over to release us from the traces we are bound to our wagens of endeaver. Karl,
I am so happy that you came back. We discussed your disappearance from the forum, but we did not know how to contact you. This was the worst not knowing how can we help you. In the future, is there any e-mail address or telephone we are able to contact you? If there is, please e-mail to me at: jaga@cableone.net I tried to use your other e-mail addresses which you used previously but they did not work.
I know several people who live with implanted pace-maker and they are doing well. I need to go back and read more of your messages to catch up. Ich bin so froh Dich zu sehen!

hello i am new i dont know anything about this forum yet.keep your chin up karl. how can i get started Dear Sir Thank you for your encouragement, very much appreciated I must say. In reguards to your question of how to get started,,,be concerned not, for you have done so.... I understand your question of the forum, what it is, reasoning of being, it is a natural question. Perhaps I can be of initial help, then perhaps others will then better provide the remainder. The primary reason of being that is the forum, is for discussion and exchange of Polish Culture. Although as with the reality of life, all members are not Polish, but represent various areas of Europe. In time, you will have the opportunity to meet the members for better understanding. For as with most all phases of cultural exchange, is the first meeting with others through simply exchanging through sharing your thoughts and ideas. Through this process will be the forging of friendships through sharing of interest. Even though the medium is electronic, this is still people to people. After a time, you will know each other by your senses and relationship by what they say and difference between typed words and the feelings behind that is communicated by expressions. I must ask of your preference of name? I do realize your provided name is {Timewatch}, but I am uncertain if this would be your preference. Karl

Karl, I have missed you old friend. Somehow I suspected it was a health issue. I just didn't know where to inquire.
Glad to hear you are healing well. A new timing device is always good in an older engine.
Welcome back and it is good to hear (see) your voice again.

But as you see, a bad penny always turns up...It is to the Lord as to how much time has been given to me before my time is stamped. For the present, my energy level has risen too much, I need some salt air and a fair wind.. Thank you once again my friend Karl
